Some of tomorrow’s future pilots will take their very first flight at Sentimental Journey.

On Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, the Young Eagles program returns to the Piper Museum at the western end of the field — giving young people the chance to experience the wonder of flight firsthand.

Registration begins around 9AM daily and flights continue through the afternoon. From the registration tent to aircraft assignment and takeoff, it’s an unforgettable experience for kids, families, and pilots alike.

This is what general aviation is all about:
Mentorship. Community. Inspiration. Passing aviation on to the next generation.

And while the Young Eagles flights are happening, the entire week at Lock Haven is filled with vintage aircraft, seminars, camping, live music, family activities, and aviation stories you won’t find anywhere else.

Aviation dreams have to start somewhere.

The Sentimental Journey Association Pilot Training Scholarship in honor of aviatrix Leah Jones is now accepting applications for 2026 — but the deadline is May 31.

This $1,000 scholarship is open to Pennsylvania high school students age 15+ pursuing pilot training and a future in aviation.
Leah Jones helped deliver Piper aircraft built in Lock Haven to owners across the country. Today, her legacy continues by helping inspire the next generation of pilots.
