Way to go, Jack! ππ
Two of Indiana's top young quarterbacks are surging into the post season and ready to make their mark as the playoffs loom just ahead.
Greencastle SR Cole Stephens is on the doorstep of breaking one of the states most hallowed individual records, as he is nearing the all-time passing yardage record set by Mater Dei's Jake Schiff from 1998 to 2001. Schiff passed for 12195 yards for the Wildcats during his stellar high school career, leading the Wildcats to a 41-3 record and a 2000 state championship.
Thru 9 weeks of action this fall, Stephens, a 6-3, 215 Lehigh commit, has thrown for 2616 yards, pushing his career total to 11850, just 345 behind Schiff as post season play begins this week.
Greencastle, 4-5 on the season, will be at 5-4 South Vermillion in 2A sectional play this week. All eyes will be on the Greencastle offense to see if Stephens can break the record, and also on the Wildcat defense to see if they can hold the Tiger Cub QB in check
Tri West was a preseason pick to contend for a 3A title, and the Bruins have been on a tear over the past month, winning their last 4 games by big margins as QB Jack Sorgi (6-4, 210 / Wisconsin commit) has led the prolific TW offensive attack. The Bruins have outscored their last 4 opponents 190-42 and are on fire as they head into post season play with a sectional opening home game against Crawfordsville.
Keep an eye on these two elite level QBs as the Indiana high school football post season begins
