I found an awesome rock today!

Want to know what else rocks? Building beds for kids!

This Saturday June 27th, from 8:30 am to noon, we’re going to be building beds at the Livonia 2/42 church parking lot. We’d love to have you come help.

No expertise is needed, only helpful hearts and willing hands. Come help us improve the lives of the children in our area, and come spend a Saturday doing good for your neighbors. There will be a big lunch provided too.

But no cool rocks, you’ll have to find them yourself - and the one I found is actually fossilized tabulate coral, so double cool. See you there!

Happy Monday Bunkheads! We're still bunking away over here in Wayne County and could use your help. This Saturday we have our last bed build before we take a build break for the summer. If your Saturday morning is open, we could use more hands and will return the favor by feeding you! So click the link below and come join us as we make a difference in the lives of kids in our area. The Church of the Way on Grosse Ile is hosting a crucial community event this Sunday, June 7.

Too many children in our broader community go to sleep each night without a proper place to rest. They are sleeping on floors, on blankets, or piled onto couches. As neighbors, we have a profound responsibility to care for the most vulnerable among us, and there is no one more vulnerable than a child in need of security and comfort.

This Sunday, from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm, we are gathering at 24200 Meridian Road in Grosse Ile for a bed building event. We are partnering to construct sturdy, wooden beds that will go directly into the homes of these children.
We do not have a pre-registration or an online sign-up sheet for this event. I am asking you simply to show up. You can sign up directly on-site when you arrive. We welcome every single volunteer, regardless of your skill level or background. You do not need to be an expert carpenter or have a garage full of tools. We will have people there to guide you, and there is a role for everyone, whether it is sanding a piece of wood, assembling a frame, or just offering encouragement to those working alongside you.
Please show up this Sunday ready to work and filled with excitement for what we can accomplish together. A few hours of your afternoon will translate into years of safe, peaceful sleep for a child who desperately needs it. Let us come together to be the hands and feet of comfort for these families.
