This article reflects the insight of the late Kate O’Beirne. It does not mention the debate about whether young women should be subject to Selective Service registration, but it does support the point that women have always stepped up to serve when their country is in peril, but not necessarily in ways identical to men.

A question asked in a recent Quinnipiac University Poll sparked a national conversation: “If you were in the same position as Ukrainians are now, do you think that you would stay and fight or leave the country?”

"When enemies read of male soldiers wearing pregnancy suits and high heels, required 'sensitivity' training, 'Emma and her two moms' recruiting videos, 'safe spaces' from the pressures of introductory training, the dilution of our ground combat forces, and transgender special treatment, they judge these actions not by our standards, but by their own."

We must deter conflict not just with technology but by creating near certainty among enemies that the United States would prevail in battle.

“The Navy has not put childcare centers on warships – yet – but with 25 percent female quotas to meet, the idea is not far removed from maternity flight suits for flight-restricted pregnant aviators. If a Navy diversity-crat announced plans for carrier kindergartens, would civilians who questioned her priorities be treated like Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson was? Civilians and members of Congress responsible for oversight should be able to question Pentagon priorities without military leaders blasting them for doing so.”

In August 1995, retired Navy officer Larry Di Rita wrote a satirical article imagining a Navy captain trying to cope with politically correct mandates.  “Reflections on a Naval Career” was edgy, but the Naval Institute’s Proceedings magazine published it anyway.

Military people are supposed to avoid political entanglements, but partisans for the Biden/Harris campaign are doing everything possible to divide the Commander-in-Chief from the troops he leads. Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis, unfortunately, has become a key figure in the campaign, even though he has not endorsed Joe Biden for President.”

In the 2020 presidential election, leftist media and well-funded activist groups are working hard to drive a wedge between President Donald J. Trump and the troops he leads.

The Trump Administration has confronted the issue of toxic “critical race theory” (CRT) with a September 22 Executive Order directing all government agencies to eliminate indoctrination programs, which promote “offensive and anti-American race and s*x stereotyping and scapegoating.” Nowhere are these changes needed more than in the Department of Defense, where patriotism and mutual respect in the ranks are essential in maintaining its all-volunteer force. The Executive Order forbids critical race theory indoctrination holding that “any individual should feel discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or s*x.” The EO also confronts the idea that “meritocracy or traits such as a hard work ethic are racist or s*xist, or were created by a particular race to oppress another race.” Divisive, demoralizing critical race theory indoctrination has no place in military training, colleges, or military service academies. Men and women in our military deserve sound polices that strengthen our military, not weaken it

To reinforce the principles that strengthen our military, the Trump administration should vigorously enforce prohibitions on critical race theory programs.

Because the Center for Military Readiness is an independent organization, we do not hesitate to report on and analyze military/social policies that let down the troops. We hope that the Marines will reconsider current trends and restore sound priorities that strengthen the only Marine Corps we have.

A Green Beret and combat veteran whose wife, Navy Chief Petty Officer Shannon M. Kent, was killed by a su***de bomber in Syria along with three others, has expressed heartfelt support for President Trump. Navy linguist Shannon Kent was, indeed, an amazing woman:

I'd never met a president before Donald Trump. His empathy and thoughtfulness on one of the worst days of my life won my gratitude.

The House version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for 2021 would establish a “Diversity & Inclusion Council of the Department of Defense,” which would become a powerful power base for advocates of divisive “woke” ideology. Should this language survive the Conference Committee, a veto of the entire defense bill would be justified. The Trump Administration also should discontinue Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s plans to establish a similar “Diversity & Inclusion” Committee, modeled after the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services (DACOWITS).

Imagine this: The streets of Army bases or the decks of Navy ships are painted with large yellow letters saluting the controversial organization, “Black Lives Matter.”  At the Army/Navy game, players take a knee instead of saluting the flag.

The Supreme Court’s decision in the Bostock case was mistaken for many reasons, but its most harmful consequences should not be imposed on our military. Thanks to Richard Viguerie and George Rasley of the Conservative HQ for publishing CMR’s analysis of this important issue.

On January 22, 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court effectively overruled four district judge preliminary injunctions against President Trump’s call for changes in military transgender policies. Following that 5-4 ruling, the Pentagon announced plans to begin implementation of the 2018 policy on April 12,...

With all the publicity about the Navy and Air Force fly overs saluting the coronavirus first responders CMR would like to share a stunning framed picture that we have in our office that was made by military artist Rick Herter. It is titled “Pacific Thunder,” and is signed by each of the 1997 US Air Force Thunderbirds pilot team. It displays the Thunderbirds as they form up off the coast of Hawaii for a spectacular low-level fly over. -CMR
