Fall Greetings!

This is just a reminder that the Annual Civil War Reenactors Calendar Conference will be held November 2nd at 10:30 AM at the G.A.R. Memorial Hall and Museum in Eaton Rapids. If you have them, please send any fliers to this email address prior to this event so that I can pre-populate information into the calendar.

As with the previous annual conferences, the purpose of the reenactor conference is to help promote Michigan Civil War events and Civil War events of significance to Michigan. Individuals, organizations, and communities sponsoring and/or hosting reenactments, living histories, programs, presentations, and/or commemorations are encouraged to bring their fliers and other promotional items about their 2025 event to the conference. The conference and subsequent statewide calendar have proven to be effective tools in helping to avoid event date conflicts and in bringing in additional notice, participants, and the public to your events. Refreshments and donuts will be served.

I think I have finally figured it out (fingers crossed)! The 2024 Michigan Civil War Schedule can be found through the Google Calendar at https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=bWljdzE1MEBnbWFpbC5jb20 going forward. We are also working to get it on the AllMichiganCivilWar.com website for the future.

The Michigan Annual Civil War Reenactors Calendar Conference will take place at Michigan's GAR Memorial Hall & Museum on November 4, 2023 at 10:30am. (Doors will be open at 10am.)

If you are unable to attend but would like to have an event posted on the calendar, please email the event details to [email protected] and I will make sure the details get listed. Due to the MICW150.us website no longer functioning, we will be transitioning to a new domain which will hopefully be up and running before the meeting. Details to follow.

It is with a very heavy heart I write to say that Keith Graham Harrison, our beloved webmaster, received his final marching orders today. Keith was a fierce friend, an amazing mentor to so many of us, and a wealth of Civil War knowledge and history. He left his fingerprint on the hearts of young and old alike, fostering a love of history in all. He will be greatly missed!

After 12 years, I have stepped down from serving as the Michigan Civil War History Partners’ Facebook Administrator and as Webmaster of its website (www.micw150.us). Stephanie Miner ([email protected]) has agreed to take over both responsibilities.
