Wildlife Wonderland

Wildlife Wonderland A animal rescue providing permanent homes for exotic animals, offering educational tours & programs.
(2)

Wildlife Wonderland is very passionate about each and every species that is part of our troop and we take great pride in being able to educate kids and adults about the animals statuses the wild, the affect we have on the environment and the truth of what sacrifice goes in to taking these animals on as "pets". a lot of our videos and such are cute an funny but don't let that fool you in to thinkin

g any of these babies are at all easy, in fact as a mother of 3 I would consider it equal to having a toddler. I hope we are able to open eyes and prevent people from impulsively buying exotics.

❤️Luca is one of our recent brown lemur surrenders who’s only been known to target two people so far and both happened to be women. So naturally because I make excellent life choices I decided to take the risk and see what happened.

🫣Truthfully I wasn’t sure if Luca would form a bond with any of us. Many surrendered primates arrive with complicated histories and every animal adjusts differently. But so far, he has absolutely exceeded expectations and has been nothing short of adorable.

⚠️Now before anyone watches this video and decides they need a lemur, let’s talk reality.
Lemurs are terrible pets I don’t care what a breeder told you.

‼️Whether it’s a ring tailed lemur, ruffed lemur or a brown lemur like Luca, they all reach sexual maturity and most become increasingly difficult to manage.
🩸They can be incredibly aggressive, cause serious injuries, and have sent more owners, family members and friends to the hospital than I can count.
🔴They can climb literally every surface in your home so kiss your decorations goodbye!
And no they do not potty train.
Cute baby lemurs grow up & The challenges don’t go away.

🏠That’s why facilities like Wildlife Wonderland are so important. We take in the animals that many others won’t the ones that come with significant risks, behavioral issues, and complicated histories. Animals that need a place to go when their owners realize they were never meant to be pets in the first place.

🐒Here in Texas, lemurs are unfortunately sold far too often and rescues like ours are desperately needed to give them a safe place when things don’t work out.

🫶If you’d like to support Luca and the rest of our rescue residents we’d be incredibly grateful.

❗️how we feed and water the aggressive lemurs on Lemur Island… let’s see how this goes😅

⚠️This is still a process we’re perfecting because these guys can be dangerous especially the males. Thankfully Nick has been amazing and the boys seem to respect him way more than they respect me… clearly Julian is still my personal enemy because he tried to run after me in this video. 😂

🐒We’re learning their boundaries, they’re learning ours and everyone is slowly figuring out that we’re only coming onto the island to bring food, water and care. Since moving to Lemur Island their attitudes have honestly improved so much with all the extra space and we’re hopeful this process will continue getting easier over time.

🙏💞Thank you to everyone who helped get Lemur Island this far. We still need to finish the structure by insulating it, enclosing it fully and turning it into a temperature controlled building for the lemurs.

🔴We cannot do this without your support. Every donation, share, comment, and wishlist purchase helps us keep building this dream for them. 🖤

💚 It’s $5 Friday, and today we need your help
The reality is that rescue work has become more expensive than ever.
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind here at Wildlife Wonderland.

❗️🍎Produce costs more. Animal feed costs more. Building materials cost more. Vet care costs more. Everything has gone up but the animals still need the same level of care they deserve.
🔴This week, we’re facing another produce run and our food fund is still short.

🏠We recently welcomed SEVEN new rescue animals who had nowhere else to go. Since then we’ve been working nonstop to build new enclosures, finish Lemur Island, prepare habitats, feed over 100 animals every single day and somehow keep up with the endless list of chores that come with running a rescue.

🫶 I know times are hard for everyone right now, which is why we created $5 Friday. Because while one person may not be able to give hundreds of dollars a community coming together with just $5 each can completely change the outcome for these animals.

💞There are days when the weight of this rescue feels overwhelming. The responsibility never stops. Every animal here depends on us for their food, safety, medical care and future.

🙏❤️But then I look at Rupert sunning himself, Steven learning to trust again, the lemurs exploring their island, and the countless animals who were given a second chance because of this community… and I remember exactly why we keep going.

🫂If Wildlife Wonderland has ever made you smile, laugh, learn something new, or simply brighten your day, please consider helping us today.

Every $5 donation matters.

Every share matters.

Every single person who stands behind this rescue matters.

You all asked, so we’re answering the question: What is on Steven’s waist? 🐒
What you’re seeing is called a belly band and in the primate world it’s essentially the equivalent of a dog wearing a collar. It allows us to safely attach a leash when needed without having to repeatedly handle or restrain Steven.

🫶 When Steven first arrived he had very little trust in humans and was extremely uncomfortable with anyone touching around his waist. Because of that, we made the decision to leave his belly band on rather than force interactions that could create fear, stress, or setbacks in his trust journey. Our goal has always been to give Steven as many positive experiences as possible while allowing him to move at his own pace.

🥹 Even putting a leash on is a challenge but keeping the belly band in place allows him to safely come out of his enclosure, join us for chores around the property, hang out inside the house, watch movies with us and most importantly continue rebuilding trust with people.

💕 If you’ve been following his journey, you know just how incredible his progress has been. Just a few months ago Steven wouldn’t come anywhere near me. Now he runs to me, jumps into my arms climbs onto my shoulders and is absolutely thriving. ❤️

💭🤔☝️ We hope this answers your question! We love keeping you guys in the loop and educating you about the animals, their care, and the training process here at Wildlife Wonderland. Have another question? Drop it in the comments below! 👇

🚨 THIS is why I don’t volunteer to hold pigs anymore… 🚨

Today was hoof trimming day for Pookie and Gigi, and let me tell you, these two acted like we were personally ruining their entire lives. 😭

I genuinely thought I was going to help hold them down, but after about 30 seconds it became very clear this was a job for Construction Daddy. 💪🏼😂 Thankfully Nick stepped in because these pigs were serving drama, betrayal, and emotional distress from start to finish.

A huge shoutout to our farrier, who absolutely worked his magic. He doesn’t normally do pig hooves, but he made an exception for us, and honestly, we trust him completely after the incredible work he did on Alejandro. When Alejandro first arrived, he could barely walk, and now he’s running, jumping, and living his best life.

If you’re new here, Pookie and Gigi are our rescue pigs that traveled all the way from Florida to Texas. If you haven’t seen their transport videos, scroll back because they were just as dramatic during the 20-hour road trip as they were during today’s hoof trim. Some things never change. 😂

What looks like a simple hoof trim ended up taking nearly an hour of wrestling, bribing, negotiating, and convincing two very offended pigs that we were actually helping them. Caring for rescue animals isn’t always cute photo ops and cuddles. Sometimes it’s sweating in the Texas heat while a pig screams at you like you’ve committed a crime.

But at the end of the day, healthy hooves mean healthy pigs, and despite their complaints, Pookie and Gigi are feeling much better now. ❤️

Every rescue animal that comes through our doors requires time, supplies, veterinary care, and a whole lot of patience. If you’d like to help support animals like Pookie and Gigi, you can donate below:

🐒🏝️ Two days ago we did the unthinkable… we loaded eight lemurs onto the yacht and officially moved them to Lemur Island.

To say we were nervous would be an understatement. Introducing new lemurs is never simple, and we had no way of knowing if everyone would truly get along once they were given such a large space together.

One of the most interesting things to watch has been the social dynamics developing. If you didn’t know ring tailed lemurs are female dominant meaning one female typically takes on the role of matriarch and helps keep the troop in line. Right now, Aubrey seems determined to claim that position and honestly, she’s doing a pretty good job of letting everyone know she’s in charge.

As for the boys? Many of you have joked that Julian deserves to finally earn his title as King Julian and we’re starting to think you might be right. 👑😂

Lemur Island is still a work in progress and we still need to complete the island structure fully enclosing and insulating it so the lemurs can have a temperature controlled building for the heat of summer and cold of winter. If you’d like to help us continue building this dream for the animals every donation makes a difference.

Wildlife Wonderland is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we couldn’t do any of this without our incredible supporters.

It’s 5 dollar FRIDAY & I want to be completely honest with you guys today.

Running a rescue has never been cheap but lately it feels like everything has skyrocketed. Produce costs have tripled, Animal feed costs have went up and Building supplies cost more than it has in a long time. Every single thing we need to keep Wildlife Wonderland running has increased, and we’re doing everything we can to adjust and stretch every dollar as far as possible.

At the same time we just welcomed SEVEN new rescue animals who had nowhere else to go.

Between preparing enclosures for the new arrivals, working around the clock to get Lemur Island completed, feeding over 100 animals every day, and handling the never ending maintenance that comes with rescue life things have been hectic and honestly overwhelming.

We are due for our produce run and we have not met our food fund goal.

If everyone who follows and supports Wildlife Wonderland contributed the cost of a coffee today, it would make an enormous difference for the animals who depend on us every single day.

Some days I carry the stress of this rescue so heavily that it keeps me awake at night. The responsibility of making sure every animal is fed, healthy, safe and cared for never stops. But then I look at the faces of the animals we’ve saved…the ones nobody else wanted and I know giving up isn’t an option.

If Wildlife Wonderland has ever made you smile, taught you something, inspired you, or given you a reason to believe people can still make a difference, please consider helping us today.

We need our internet fam right now more than ever.

Thank you all so much we wish you all a happy and safe Friday and thank you again and endlessly for standing behind us through thick and thin.

🐒🏝️ THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED… LEMUR ISLAND IS OFFICIALLY UP AND RUNNING!

🙏After seven months of blood, sweat, tears, setbacks, problem solving, and countless hours of hard work, today we watched a dream become reality.

💭🤔Back in November Lemur Island was just an idea, A vision, A goal that felt almost impossible at times but thanks to it’s a reality for these amazing lemur’s!
Today eight lemurs took their first steps onto their very own island.

💚 Juliette
💚 Aubrey
💚 Mason
💚 Julian
💚 Oswald
💚 Kip Adams
💚 Mickey
💚 Minnie

❤️Watching them explore, climb and enjoy a space designed specifically for them has been one of the most rewarding moments of my entire rescue journey.

🏠What makes this even more special is knowing where some of these animals came from. Julian and Juliette spent two years living in a tiny box before arriving at Wildlife Wonderland. Today they live on an island ..An actual island.
That transformation is why we do this.

‼️None of this would have been possible without the incredible people who believed in this project from the very beginning.

💪🙏A huge thank you to Brandy at Vickery Dirt for sponsoring this project, expanding the pond, building the island, and helping turn this dream into a reality. Thank you to Nick for the endless hours of building, planning, and making the impossible happen. Thank you to Peyton and Anna for stepping in when we were racing against deadlines and helping us get across the finish line.

🫶And thank YOU every donor, supporter, follower, sponsor, and member of our internet family. This island doesn’t belong to Wildlife Wonderland alone. It belongs to every single person who helped make it happen.

💞Together, we changed these animals’ lives forever.
From the bottom of our hearts to the tips of our tails thank you for believing in our mission and helping us give animals the lives they deserve.

Now stay tuned for Part 2… because watching the lemurs settle into island life has already been absolutely incredible. 🐒🏝️✨
