A huge thank you to George Daniel for joining us at FlyFest 2026!

George drew a crowd every time he stepped up to teach, and the feedback from attendees has been exceptional. We heard again and again that his presentations offered practical insights that will genuinely change the way people cast, approach the water and fish.

That is exactly what FlyFest is all about: bringing people together to learn, share knowledge and leave as better anglers than when they arrived.

Welcome to Fly Fishers International, Matt Jockers!

FlyFest offered the perfect opportunity to welcome Matt Jockers, the new President & CEO of Fly Fishers International, to the FFI community.

Matt brings a strong background in leadership, education and organizational development to the role, along with a commitment to building on FFI’s legacy and helping position the organization for a strong future.

And he certainly made an impact at last night’s FlyFest Banquet & Auction!

Matt generously stepped forward to match donations made during the evening, helping bring the grand total raised to an incredible $46,000!

Those funds will be invested directly back into FFI programming, educational resources, training opportunities and conservation projects, supporting the work that connects, educates and strengthens the fly-fishing community.

Welcome to FFI, Matt, and thank you for starting this new chapter with such generosity.

And a huge thank you to everyone who joined us last night, raised a paddle, placed a bid, donated an item or made a contribution. $46,000 is an incredible result, and it happened because of this community.

Here’s to an exciting next chapter for Fly Fishers International!

A very special thank you and congratulations, to Rhonda Sellers, who was recognized last night at the FlyFest Banquet & Auction for an incredible 15 years of service to Fly Fishers International!

If you’ve spent any time around FFI, chances are you know Rhonda and she definitely knows you. After 15 years, she knows just about every square inch of FFI and, more importantly, the people who make this organization what it is.

Her knowledge, dedication and commitment to FFI and its community have made an enormous impact over the years, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed.

As Rhonda moves into retirement (sort of?) we wish her nothing but the very best in this next chapter.

Thank you, Rhonda, for 15 remarkable years. You will always be an important part of the FFI family!

A very special thank you to Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers and the norcal_council_ffi for their incredible support in helping bring FlyFest to life here in Redding.

We especially want to recognize Ron Beltramo and Dan Burton, who have served on our FlyFest event committee and have spent the past year helping make this weekend possible. From rounding up presenters and securing donations to recruiting volunteers, sharing ideas and tackling countless details behind the scenes, their contribution has been tremendous.

Events like FlyFest don’t happen without people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and put in the work. We are incredibly grateful to Ron, Dan, Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers, the Northern California Council and all of the volunteers who have stepped up to help us welcome the fly-fishing community to Redding.
