Livingston Lions Club Livingston Lions Club is committed to serving and supporting the community and select charitable orga

For the 110 members of the Livingston Lions Club, their weekly meetings are much more than an opportunity to network with other businessmen and women; it’s an opportunity to improve the quality of life for the poor, the sick, the handicapped and the aged. Club members (ranging in age from 22 up) work together on a number of programs that include: SUMMER CAMP FOR LOCAL YOUTHS; RELAY FOR LIFE; THE YOUTH RODEO; AND THE CONCESSION STAND FOR THE HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME. In the past we donated $50,000 toward the development of the Polk County College/ Commerce Center. And this year we have budgeted $7,000 to provide eye exams and glasses for about 100 Polk Countians. Community-based organizations that get financial support from the Livingston Lions Club include: the Boys and Girls Club, SAAFE House, Godtel, Mannafest, CASA, Habitat for Humanity, Youth Baseball, Youth Softball, Youth Soccer, Little Dribblers, Childrenz Haven, SPCA, and 5-$500 Green and White Scholarships. Lions Club International has over 1.8 million members around the world. This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dianne Amerine, Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Angelina College!

Dianne shared how the SBDC helps East Texas entrepreneurs and small business owners succeed through FREE business advising, training, and valuable resources.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who purchased tickets, donated prizes, helped sell tickets, and supported this year’s raffle! Your support helps the Livingston Lions Club continue giving back through the many Lions Club charities we serve.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office was our guest speaker at today's Livingston Lions Club meeting. Sheriff Byron Lyons and his staff shared an inspiring update on the positive work taking place at the Polk County Jail.

We learned about the many programs focused on rehabilitation and personal growth, including Christian counseling, GED classes, anger management, personality assessments, and mental health support through the Burke Center and Serenity House. Sheriff Lyons also highlighted how these efforts are helping change lives, reduce conflicts within the jail, and prepare inmates for a better future.

Thank you, Polk County Sheriff's Office TX, Sheriff Byron Lyons, for sharing the incredible work being done to serve our community. We appreciate your leadership and your commitment to making a positive impact in Polk County! 🦁💙🚔

The Livingston Lions Club would like to thank Dr. Pack for speaking at our recent meeting and providing updates on all the exciting things happening within Livingston ISD. We are thrilled to see the continued growth and progress throughout the district and can't wait to see the new stadium completed!

We also enjoyed hearing from Janan Moore about the new grant foundation that will help teachers fulfill classroom wish lists and provide additional resources to enhance educational opportunities for students. Supporting our educators is an investment in the future of our community, and we are excited to see the positive impact this initiative will have.

Thank you both for your dedication to our schools, teachers, and students. Great things are happening in Livingston!
