Yesterday, several tribal veterans and some members of the tribal community gathered to honor and remember US Army Corporal Orestus Marion Stewart who was killed in action defending an airfield in South Korea during the Korean War in 1950. Corporal Stewart remained unidentified for 75 years and was welcomed home by the surrounding communities on his way home to Jasper County.

Never forget his sacrifice and his service to his country. 🫡🙏🏿
