The Kiwanis Club of Livingston will host its annual 4th of July Swim Karnival at the Mervyn V.T Haines Memorial Pool adjacent to Livingston High School on Saturday, July 4th, with the opening ceremony beginning around 10:15 am.

Children between the ages of three and 13 are invited to participate. Swim races will be held according to age, and prizes will be awarded to all children who participate. A children’s arts and crafts table will also be available.

The event is free, and there is no registration required. Those interested in participating must be at the Haines Pool around 9:45 am.

This week, the Kiwanis Club of Livingston presented a Sponsored Youth scholarship to Adel Michael in recognition of achieving the highest number of Key Club volunteer hours during her tenure at Livingston High School.

Adel was active in Key Club through her years at LHS, including serving as the club’s president in the 2025/2026 school year. She logged an impressive 199 volunteer hours, reflecting her hard work and commitment to helping others!

This week, the Kiwanis Club of Livingston was proud to present a donation to the Essex YMCA, funded through the proceeds of our 2025 Golf Classic and Oktoberfest events.

We are already looking forward to and planning our 2026 Golf Classic on August 10 and Oktoberfest on October 11th. Stay tuned for more details about these exciting community events.

Thank you to everyone who attended last week’s Kiwanis Karnival. This event would not be possible without the tremendous support from the community, our sponsors, and many volunteers.

This year, we enjoyed a whole week without rain, and we were pleased to successfully host over 350 people for the Annual Barry Ross Arc Day Karnival. Honoring children and adults with special needs, the event offered free entry, rides, games, food, and prizes.

Congratulations to James Mcllvaine “Jeep” and Gella Seiden, who were presented with The Carrington-Swain Fellowship Award this week. This is one of the highest honors from the New Jersey District of Kiwanis International. It recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding community service and best fulfill the Kiwanis motto: “Improving the world, one child at a time… one community at a time”.

The Kiwanis Karnival has more fun than ever, and we are PROUD and EXCITED to share that we have made major improvements to the grounds, creating clear stone walkways! WE NO LONGER HAVE MUD, and the weather has been very cooperative. Come enjoy a local fun night out with your children, friends and family. We have it all-- rides, games, food, and our famous FUNNEL CAKES!
