Tomorrow, August 26, we recognize Women’s Equality Day. 💜

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the certification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, a historic milestone in the fight for women’s equality and voting rights.

At the same time, we recognize that the right to vote was not fully realized by all women in 1920. Many women of color continued to face legal and systemic barriers to political representation for decades.

Today, Women’s Equality Day is both a celebration of the progress that has been made and a reminder of the work that remains.

At Tri-Valley Haven, this day connects deeply to our mission. Our work helps survivors and individuals reclaim their safety, independence, voice, and power. We believe everyone deserves to live free from violence and with the opportunity to have their voice heard.

💜 Please note: Tri-Valley Haven sites will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, in observance of Women’s Equality Day. Our shelters and 24-hour Crisis Hotline will remain open to ensure support is available to those who need it.

925 GIVES is officially LIVE!

Tri-Valley Haven is proud to participate in 925 GIVES, a community-wide giving campaign supporting nonprofits serving Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.

The pre-giving window is open now, so you can choose Tri-Valley Haven when you make your donation. Your support helps us continue providing safety, advocacy, shelter, counseling, and essential resources to survivors and families in our community.

The 24-hour giving day is September 25, with challenges, prizes, and opportunities to amplify your impact throughout the day. Donations will be accepted through October 8.

We’re adding one final day to our Back-to-School Backpack Distribution! If your student still needs a backpack and school supplies, we’d love to see you today. 💙
