On August 17th, Colorado BHA AFI volunteers teamed up with the Bureau Of Land Management () to remove approximately 1.5.miles of old barbed wire fencing and t-posts from the mosquito range just south of Fairplay. This effort significantly improves wildlife habitat, opens up migration routes, and eliminates a significant hazard to animals. Thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work. You're making a difference!

The 2nd annual Fort Carson AFI 3D Archery Shoot was a resounding success. Beautiful weather, extremely generous event partners, and a great group of archers made for an excellent time all around. Thanks to everyone who made it out to send some arrows downrange, and special thanks to Archery School of the Rockies for being on site to help the archers with adjustments and advice! We can't wait for next year, and hope to see you all there!

Colorado BHA Armed Forces Initiative invites all AFI members to join us for this archery skills workshop to help novice archers get ready for hunting season.

This workshop is intended for newer archers to help hone your skills in preparation for Archery Season. An instructor will be on site to assist with any problems you may be experiencing with your shooting, and you will have the opportunity to engage many different targets from varied distances, both on even and challenging terrain.

Attendees must have their own fitted bow and arrows. Field tips, nocks, string wax, and arrow l**e will be available if needed.

Snacks, water, and Gatorade will be provided.

On this day in 1777, General George Washington secured a victory over the British at the battle of Princeton. Just days after the famous crossing of the Delaware river and surprise attack at Trenton, General Washington crossed his army back across the river to defeat British forces at Princeton. These victories, coming after a string of losses, greatly helped to boost morale and encouraged recruitment into the Continental Army.
