We’re throwing a party in honor of our favorite, friendly Backcountry Wilderness Area myth... the Bigfoot Bash!

Join us on Saturday, July 25th from 6 - 10 PM at Base Camp (6005 Ron King Trail, Littleton, CO 80125).

The shindig starts with an evening of celebration featuring a bounce house, dunk tank, live animal presentation, and more. As the sun sets, enjoy Zootopia 2 under the stars on our giant Backcountry Base Camp screen! Fingers crossed that Backcountry Bigfoot makes an appearance!

All proceeds benefit the Backcountry Wilderness Area Fund.

Wild Roots Nature Preschool’s 2026-2027 school year still has a few spots remaining!

Wild Roots is an outdoor, nature-based preschool for children ages 3–6, offering an immersive, play-based learning experience rooted in the natural world. Children spend their days learning through exploration, movement, and hands-on experiences outdoors.

Our flexible outdoor environment supports an emergent curriculum, with teachers acting as thoughtful guides—closely noticing and responding to each child’s observations, questions, and interests.

We know that children learn best through play, movement, and deep engagement with what genuinely interests them. Summer evening fun begins this weekend in the Backcountry Wilderness Area!

Bring family and friends to enjoy the beautiful weather and a peaceful evening outdoors.

On Friday night, enjoy free, self-led time in nature during Base Camp Exploration. Snacks, a picnic dinner, your book, a journal, and other activities are welcome.

On Saturday night, join us for the opening night of two exciting programs: Nature Night Out and our Summer Outdoor Movie Series!

Nature Night Out is a new program that provides a deeper look into the flora and fauna of the Backcountry Wilderness Area, while still allowing for plenty of self-paced nature exploration at sunset. Come meet live animals and feel free to bring a picnic dinner!

The Goonies is kicking off our Outdoor Movie Series this summer! Come enjoy this classic under the stars. Doors open at 8, but if you want more time outside, make sure to grab a combo ticket to Nature Night Out and the movie to save on a whole evening of adventure!
