For all we have lost.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people—sometimes in the most brutal ways possible—it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.” —Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) founder Gwendolyn Ann Smith

As PFLAG members and supporters—as human beings—it is imperative that we boldly, loudly, and publicly honor those we have lost to anti-trans violence and hate. Our trans loved ones deserve to thrive and be their authentic selves, not to be the victims, scapegoats, and targets of those with cruel political agendas. PFLAG will continue to fight for equal rights and access to medical care, and advocate side-by-side with our trans loved ones so that they are safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved in every aspect of their lives. 🏳️‍⚧️

Here are some actions you can take this Trans Day of Remembrance:
• Reach out to your local PFLAG chapter to find TDOR events in your area. (Find your chapter at pflag.org/find)
• Take action against trans violence, by joining Fighting For Our Pride. This grassroots, nationwide campaign focuses on advocacy at the state and local levels where the most harmful legislation against our trans loved ones is being passed. Learn more about the campaign, and take the pledge at pflag.org/FightingForOurPride

Happy Transgender Awareness Week! ✨

November 13th to 19th is dedicated to celebrating our trans communities and raising awareness on what each of us can do to foster a more gender-inclusive world for our friends, family, and neighbors.

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is proud to provide inclusive s*xual and reproductive health services to all of our patients, and we continue to stand with our transgender patients who rely on us for care. 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

This As*xual Awareness Week, we’re celebrating and uplifting the spectrum of as*xual identities. To our as*xual loved ones: we see you, we support you, and we're PFLAG Proud of you! 🖤🩶🤍💜

🏳️‍🌈 What does it mean to be as*xual?
Sometimes abbreviated as ace, the term refers to an individual who does not experience s*xual attraction. Each as*xual person experiences relationships, attraction, and arousal differently. As*xuality is distinct from chosen behavior such as celibacy or s*xual abstinence; as*xuality is a s*xual orientation that does not necessarily define s*xual behaviors. As*xual people exist on a spectrum of s*xual attraction and can use terms such as gray as*xual or gray ace to describe themselves.

Something awesome to see!

Elliot Page is taking a walk on the wild side with “Second Nature: Gender and Sexuality in the Animal World” — a new documentary exploring queerness across the natural world.

Narrated and produced by Page, the film challenges the myth that nature is strictly binary, uncovering how over 1,500 species form same-s*x partnerships, create matriarchies, and even change s*x.

Featuring leading scientists including trans ecologist Dr Joan Roughgarden, “Second Nature” premieres at the New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival on 18 October.
