Meteorologist: “Possible record heat this weekend.” ☀️

TLC: “Challenge accepted.” 🚤💦

So we loaded up the boat, grabbed the sunscreen and headed for the lake!

One thing many women discover in recovery is that somewhere along the way, addiction stole more than just time—it stole joy. The hobbies. The laughter. The adventures. The simple ability to just enjoy a beautiful day.

At Tender Loving Christ, we know recovery is serious work. It requires courage, honesty, vulnerability and facing some really hard things. That’s why it’s equally important to make room for healthy fun, genuine connection and creating new memories.

This past weekend was full of sunshine, boat rides, laughter and reminders that life can be beautiful again.

On this Thankful Thursday, we’re especially grateful for days like these. Days spent together, making memories, enjoying God’s creation and celebrating the freedom that recovery brings. ☀️🌊💙

And when the forecast calls for record heat, we call it God’s invitation to spend a day on the
water. 😍

Testimony Tuesday 🙌

Complete restoration

There was a time when I was lost, but by the grace of God, I am found. What the enemy meant for harm, God has redeemed for His glory.
This weekend, I had the privilege of hosting a family dinner at TLC and celebrating both my son Tyler's birthday and my daughter Tristin's birthday in the home God has entrusted to me. As I watched my children gathered around the table, laughing, eating, and simply enjoying being together, my heart overflowed with gratitude.
I am so humbled that God has allowed me to live in this home, serve as House Mom, and witness His faithfulness firsthand. Every need I have has been met. Time and time again, He has proven that He is a good Father who takes care of His children.
Seeing the joy on my children's faces as they came to my home and enjoyed a meal that God provided was a reminder that none of this is because of me—it's all because of Him. Every blessing, every provision, every open door, every restoration is the work of His loving hand.
God always provides for His children, and I am living proof. To Him be all the glory, honor, and praise. ❤️
"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory..." — Ephesians 3:20-21

We are incredibly grateful for Hornbuckle and the work they do. Through their scholarship program, women have received funding to enter TLC and pursue recovery. Their commitment to helping women find hope and healing aligns closely with our mission, and we wholeheartedly support the difference they are making. 🙏❤️

Help the Hornbuckle Foundation!

Today, the Hornbuckle Foundation is facing an unprecedented loss of funding.

Due to a recent funding reduction from Signal, the Hornbuckle Foundation has lost approximately $400,000 in critical funding. This funding supports nearly every aspect of our mission, including daily operations, administrative costs, direct client assistance, services not covered by Medicaid, staff salaries, and our sober living scholarship programs.

Without immediate support, the Hornbuckle Foundation will have to cut back our services dramatically.

For years, we have worked tirelessly to help individuals and families affected by substance use disorders, providing resources, support, stability, and hope when they need it most. Every day, our team helps people navigate recovery, access services, secure housing, and build healthier futures.
The loss of this funding threatens all of that.

While this amount will not replace the entire funding loss, it will provide the immediate resources needed to continue operations while we pursue long-term funding solutions. It will buy valuable time to keep services running and prevent an immediate shutdown.

Thankful Thursday 💜

Today I’m incredibly thankful that I had the opportunity earlier this week to celebrate Kirsten’s birthday over dinner and reflect on her journey the night before she began her next chapter in her new home! 😍

As we talked about how far she has come since the day she walked through the doors of TLC, we gave God all the glory. His faithfulness, provision, grace, and transforming power have been evident every step of the way.

One of the greatest blessings of TLC is getting to walk alongside women as the Lord heals, restores and leads them into new seasons. What a gift it has been to witness that in Kirsten’s life and to see all that God has done. I am so grateful our paths crossed, and I look forward to watching Him continue to write the beautiful story He has planned for her next chapter. 💜 🙌
