At a recent Section 301 hearing held by the U.S. Trade Representative on excess capacity and production in manufacturing sectors, the two largest importers of fake Christmas trees testified their products should be exempted from tariffs.
The comment / hearings sessions were part of a broader proceeding by the USTR to look into sectors impacted by the Section 301 investigations. The fake tree importers did not “ask for a special hearing” …they signed up to be one of many groups to submit testimony that they should be exempted from Section 301 tariffs.

The rebuttal letter from NCTA, under the President's signature on behalf of all growers, includes specific references, corrections and rebuttals to the testimony given by the fake tree importers.
