Safe Places For Women

Safe Places For Women We are here to help women who have experienced s*xual exploitation

Myth vs. Fact |

MYTH: Victims will ask for help if they need it.

FACT: Fear, shame, trauma, and control can make asking for help feel impossible.

That’s why awareness matters. Learning to recognize the signs could be the first step toward helping someone find safety and freedom.

Know the signs. Stay aware. Speak up.

Thought we’d hop on this trend as there is nothing more cool to be a part of than life change, rescue, and seeing God redeem. We are thankful to be a part of it and invite you to come alongside us.

These are the men and women who faithfully head out to Colfax every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, week after week, to love and serve the women there.

Last night, we fired up the grill and had the privilege of providing a warm meal to anyone who wanted one. More importantly, we got to listen, pray, encourage, and remind each person they are deeply seen and loved. God is on the move!

One of the biggest myths about s*x trafficking is that people can “just leave.”

The truth is far more complex.

Traffickers often use fear, violence, manipulation, trauma bonding, addiction, financial control, and threats against loved ones to keep victims trapped. What may seem like a choice from the outside is often survival on the inside.

Understanding the reality is the first step toward ending exploitation and supporting survivors with compassion instead of judgment.

For the past several years, David has worked directly in the anti-trafficking space, answering calls from victims who have nowhere else to turn. This work is difficult and exposes the brutal nature of the s*x trafficking crisis that often remains ignored by the public. He is sharing his personal experience on the front lines to shed light on what victims face when they reach out for help.

Meet Brooklyn! 👋 She just joined our staff as house supervisor. She is from a small town in Kansas and loves spending time with her family, especially with her 10 nieces and nephews. She loves to try new coffee shops while reading books and journaling. She has served survivors of human trafficking for about 2 years and is passionate about helping women to see the great Light in the darkness, and grow in relationship with Jesus. We are so thankful she is here! Say hello in the comments and let’s pray that God uses her mightily to love on the women in the home.
