Christmas cheer filled the air with this, our last ramp build of 2025! We completed our 51st ramp project this year in temperatures that never rose above the 20's! But at HHH, the outside temperatures may be cold, but our hearts are always warm! And thanx to Phil, we did have a little help to even take the chill off the outside air! HHH is proud to display the first ever donut warmer on a build! Wanna see it in action, come join us on Monday mornings for a little fun and a whole lot of making a difference!

Helpful Hands &Hearts has been awarded a $4,000 grant from the Lake Gaston Lions Club Benevolence Committee to expand the organization’s supply of temporary access ramps, which serve residents throughout the Lake Gaston region. The award was presented during the Lions’ November 24th meeting by Club President Buddy Wright to HHH founder Chuck Youse, in recognition of HHH’s growing impact on mobility and access for local residents facing medical challenges or mobility limitations. The Lake Gaston Lions Benevolence Committee provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that address critical community needs. HHH constructs more than 60 permanent stick-built ramps each year, while its temporary metal and aluminum ramps fill urgent, short-term needs such as post-surgical recovery, injury rehabilitation, or sudden health declines. All five of HHH’s existing temporary ramps are currently in use.
The newly awarded funds will allow HHH to purchase two additional temporary ramps, greatly improving the organization’s ability to respond quickly when a community member requires immediate assistance. This grant builds upon the Lions’ longstanding support for HHH.

“The Lions have been with HHH from the start,” said founder Chuck Youse. “Their
ongoing support and this new grant help us deliver access, dignity, and independence to neighbors who need a hand. We’re proud to work alongside an organization so deeply committed to service.”
