Members of Troop 501 just finished hiking the Billy Yank Trail at Gettysburg!

We started out at Meade’s HQs and visited the State of Pennsylvania Monument before heading through the Peach Orchard and the Wheatfield battle sites. Scrambling through Devil’s Den then climbing up Little Round Top and Big Round Top was no joke, but these Scouts, leaders and family members crushed it. We finished the hike heading past Pitzer’s Woods, walking the path of Pickett’s Charge and ending right at the Angle.

We were exhausted, sore, and learned history along the way. Congrats to the troop members for completing the trail and earning the Billy Yank historic trails patch segment! 🇺🇸 🎒🥾

Troop 501 members spent the last two weekends at the 🍎National Apple Harvest Festival keeping the grounds clean and hauling hay bales! We didn't catch pictures of everyone, but thank you to all our amazing helpers! The finally Sunday was a wet one! We had a dedicated crew to make sure our job was done! 💪

Fall Camporee '26 - Expedition Northwest (Sep 18-20 '26): Our troop stepped back into 1804 for an epic weekend of camping, frontier survival, and outdoor cooking. Even the rain on Sunday morning didn't dampen our spirits! Two AOLs from Pack 501 also joined the expedition.

Our two patrols showed incredible teamwork to conquer these frontier missions: 🌊 The Missouri River Journey, 🛶 The Great Portage, 🎯 BB & Archery Marksmanship,🐾 What is That?!, 🪓 Tomahawk Throwing, and 🔥 Fire & Frontier Cooking
Outstanding job by all the patrols to survive the journey!

What an unforgettable weekend - Sep 28-30, 2026 ! Our Scouts recently returned from an amazing camping ⛺️ trip at the historic Treasure Island Camp, tucked away right in the middle of the Delaware River. From the moment we crossed the water by barge, the island was packed with nonstop adventure, skill-building, and scouting traditions with a mini-summer camp vibe.

Our days were filled with a massive lineup of free-choice activities, including:

Traditions & Reflection: Starting and ending the days right with a formal 🇺🇸 flag raising, gathering for a meaningful chapel service, and diving into the history with a visit to the Goodman-Edson Museum.

Outdoor Skills & Craft: Working on the American Indian Culture merit badge, constructing impressive pioneering structures (Won 1st place🏆) and exploring every corner of the unique island in and out of the water.

Target Sports & Adventure: Testing our aim with archery and showing off some serious focus during knife 🗡 and 🪓 axe throwing.

Camp Fun: Relaxing by the water for some 🎣 fishing (Three were recognized for their fishing prowess!) and teaming up for an action-packed scavenger hunt! !

🎣 Fishing was one of the highlights of our trip to Treasure Island on Aug 28-30, 2026! From casting lines out on the boat to fishing the shallow banks, we had an incredible time. Huge congratulations to the two Scouts and one Scouter who reeled in their catches and were officially inducted into the Order of the Carp! 🏆🐟 Friends of Treasure Island
