Jimmy Ruff, who was wanted in connection with a Capital Murder that occurred on June 6, 2026, is now in custody.

Since the investigation began, Pine Bluff Police Department Detectives, VCAT, and the United States Marshals Service have worked continuously to locate Ruff, following up on leads and information received throughout the investigation.

Detectives recently developed information indicating Ruff was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Through continued investigative efforts, detectives identified an address where Ruff was believed to be staying. Detectives then coordinated with the United States Marshals Service to develop a plan to safely take Ruff into custody.

U.S. Marshals in Louisiana responded to the residence, surrounded the location, and successfully called Ruff out of the house. Ruff surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident.

Ruff is currently being held in Baton Rouge pending extradition back to Pine Bluff, where he will face charges of Capital Murder, multiple counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Fi***rm by Certain Persons.

The Pine Bluff Police Department would like to thank the members of the public who provided tips and information throughout this investigation. The information received from the community played an important role in helping investigators locate Ruff.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the United States Marshals Service, both locally and in Louisiana, for their continued assistance, coordination, and commitment to bringing Ruff into custody.
