Ouachita District, Natural State Council, Scouting America

Ouachita District, Natural State Council, Scouting America Ouachita District, Natural State Council serves Scouting in 6 counties of South Arkansas (Clark, Garland, Hot Spring, Montgomery, Pike, and Saline).

Ouachita District BSA is part of the Quapaw Area Council. The Quapaw Area Council serves 39 counties in central and northeast Arkansas. The council operates the council service center in Little Rock which provides registration, advancement, Scout Store, and meeting services to all youth members, adult volunteers, and parents. The council also manages and maintains the Gus Blass Scout Reservation which is the home of the new 21,500 square feet Donald W. Reynolds Training and Conference Center.

This morning, Hot Springs VFW Post 2278 recognized several Scout leaders representing Packs 3004, 3008, and Troops 1, 1313 and 6020 for their support of community service projects organized by the Post.

In a very special moment, Eagle Scout Caden G. of Troop 1 was awarded the VFW Scout of the Year Participant medal. His selection placed him into a scholarship competition at the state level, where he placed third. In recognition of this feat, the Post awarded Caden with $100 for his college pursuits.

Almost there! Only 27 volunteers in Ouachita District need to take the NEW full 90-minute Safeguarding Youth Training (Y01) course by May 31, 2026. The refresher course does not update the expiration date for Y01 if you have not completed the new module.

Your prompt attention will help us continue this strong progress and prevent any disruption to your summer Scouting plans.
