UAMS College of Medicine students wrapped up their summer service project at The Second Place Pantry by bagging up hundreds of pounds of pet food. Pets are so important to our neighbors, providing them with companionship and a sense of purpose and support. We are happy to help our neighbors with food for their four-legged loved ones!

We have an SUV-load full of fresh produce to share with our neighbors tomorrow! In our fridges are turnip greens, cabbage, mushrooms, red potatoes, peaches & bananas!

Thank you for continuing to support The Second Place Pantry. We rely on the generosity of people like you to keep our shelves filled with nutritious food.

Our food pantry has continued to grow and reach more people this year! So far in 2026, we have seen a 25% increase in the number of people seeking help from us. This is no small matter, and we are grateful for supporters like you who make serving our community possible. Through your prayers, volunteer service, and donations, we are able to continue our mission of advancing food security through dignifying means.

Our director, Kevin Pranoto, was interviewed by NBC News about the vulnerable families who have felt the devastating impacts of SNAP cuts from the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Millions of children around the country are now going hungry because of this.

Since the federal cuts were made, we have experienced a 25% increase in the number of clients at our food pantry. This places a major strain on our finances and other resources. If you want to support our vital work, please consider donating: https://onrealm.org/SecondServingFo/-/form/give/now

The Trump administration’s “big, beautiful bill” slashed spending on food stamps. Now, more than 1 million fewer children receive benefits.

The campers have been collecting food for our pantry, and we are so grateful! They have collected over 2 barrels full of food over the past week which will help replenish our shelves. Thank you for your support!
