The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation is seeking in-kind donations of trash bags, gloves, vests and other beneficial cleanup supplies to help support the amazing work thousands of cleanup volunteers removing litter across Arkansas this fall. A big shout‑out to Barrett Goodwin and the Little Rock Metro Rotary Club for hosting a fantastic cleanup!

With five dedicated volunteers, this team tackled half a mile of roadway along their adopted section of N. University Ave. between Evergreen and Lee, and the difference shows.

Barrett shared why this work matters:
“Our Little Rock Metro Rotary Club adopted a section of N. University Ave. in Little Rock between Evergreen and Lee. We want to keep this high‑traffic area litter free for the motorists, pedestrians, and neighbors who frequent this part of the city.”

Are you celebrating this weekend on one of Arkansas' beautiful waterways? Make sure to carry a container or bag that you can dispose of your waste in so it doesn't float away if your kayak, canoe or other boat tips.

Check out Ark. Code Ann. § 8-6-418 to learn more about possession of items on a navigable waterway and how to not earn up to a $500 fine.

While fireworks may be a blast, they do produce a lot of litter. During your America 250 celebrations this weekend, remember to pick up the spent firework litter and properly disposing of in a trash can.

It was an absolutely beautiful day Friday to be out with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation. We visited about ways to make The Natural State even more special for visitors and natives through projects across Arkansas. Of particular interest are trash collection booms that stretch across waterways.

Did you know…
💧Arkansas enjoys one of the largest inventories of navigable waterways in the nation with 1800 miles along five rivers?
💧That it is THIRD in the nation in the number of inland waterway miles?
💧And that Arkansas is one of only 24 states in the United States to have the unique resource of inland waterways?
…all this according to The Arkansas Waterway Commission.

Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation would enjoy partnering with businesses and organizations who wish to sponsor trash collection booms. These booms are one of the wonderful tools that we can deploy to Keep Arkansas Beautiful.

Members of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Foundation met this week and toured a water boom system on the property of Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Booms like this are available for corporate sponsorship to help protect waterways across The Natural State by collecting trash.
