Crime happens for many reasons — poverty, lack of opportunity, untreated mental health and substance abuse issues, trauma, greed, power, or poor decision-making. No one is completely immune to making harmful choices, including law enforcement officers or everyday citizens. The justice system must reflect the principle that no one is above the law. When anyone commits a crime, regardless of their position, they can and should be prosecuted appropriately. That is why it is so important to elect a prosecutor who acts with integrity, trust, and fairness — someone who applies the law equally, seeks truth over personal gain, and prioritizes justice over politics. A prosecutor must have the courage to hold everyone accountable while also exercising sound judgment and compassion, ensuring that justice serves both public safety and community trust.
