Happy Birthday to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated’s 24th International President, Dr. Mary Breaux Wright!

We celebrate the life, legacy, and leadership of Dr. Wright, who faithfully served as International President from 2012 to 2018, following two consecutive terms as National First Vice-President. A visionary and trailblazer, Dr. Wright made an indelible mark on our sisterhood and the communities we serve.

Her many accomplishments include serving as chief researcher and transcriber for Torchbearers of a Legacy, Zeta’s first published history book and launching the National Elder Care and Elder Abuse Initiative, the signature program of her administration. She oversaw the modernization of the sorority’s website with online registration and financial capabilities and implemented the impactful Seven-Point Plan focused on community service, health, education, and chapter development.

She also led Zeta to become the only Greek-lettered organization to partner with the National Science Foundation through the Human Genome Project, and in 1998, she was responsible for the sorority being awarded Non-Governmental, or NGO, Status by becoming a member of the United Nations.

Today, we honor your leadership, your legacy, and your unwavering commitment to excellence. We love you, and we hope you're enjoying a beautiful and well-deserved celebration!

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own trailblazing Soror, Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

Today, we honor Women Veterans Day and recognize the courageous women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Observed on June 12, this day commemorates the anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948, which granted women the right to serve as permanent members of the military.

We thank all women veterans for their dedication, sacrifice, leadership, and service to our nation. Your contributions have paved the way for future generations and continue to inspire us all. 🇺🇸❤️
