We are making gains team!! The level of wrestling is elevating and our results are showing it! It’s been nearly 10 years since we had a Junior level champion… we had two this year!

So proud of the process and the results! We will talk later about how we can continue this trend and grow these results even more… for now, let’s celebrate those that laced up, represented and placed!!

Bluebirds, Badgers, Panthers, Tigers, Eagles… there were Arkansas animals representing on the mats all weekend long at the USAW Southern Plains Regional tournament!

Champions, medalist and athletes getting their first taste of national competition; it was a great weekend for Arkansas wrestling!

15 Arkansas Officials, dozens of coaches and wrestlings moms and dads…all professional and supportive.

We looked good and we represented! Arkansas Proud!

2026 12U-8U Arkansas FREECO National Team Application!

Here is what you are applying for, please read completely before applying:

1. To be considered for participation in the 2026 Freestyle and Greco National duals with Team Arkansas.
2. To provide travel and lodging for your athlete to the event.
3. To abide by the ARUSAW National team standards and code of conduct.

Event Details:
Freeco Duals June 5th - 7th, 2026

This event will be at the
Union Bank & Trust Sports Complex(UBT)
21015 Cumberland Dr, Elkhorn, NE 68022

Athletes will weigh-in Friday evening, wrestle Greco Saturday & Freestyle Sunday
Boys Team Coaches: Eric Dubowsky & Alex Billiter
Girls Team Coaches: Linlee Asbill & Cody Jones
Team Leaders: Jeff Marshall & Alexandria Prock

Costs:
$75 - Registration fee to be paid in USA Wrestling
* All athletes/parents will receive a cash travel stipend at the event to help defer the costs of travel/lodging (typically $150-$200).
* All uniforms, food (during event), and drinks will be covered.

Selection:
As with all Arkansas National teams, the process for selection is done through a coaches council/vote. An athletes PIN rating, placement and participation in FS/GR State as well as Folkstyle will be considered. You will also be able to share accomplishments in this application for consideration. Final selections will be announced May 13th, 2026.

BONUS OPPORTUNITY: NE-AR Exchange Program.
June 1st - 4th
Lincoln, NE

In partnership with the Nebraska RTC, we are working to build a great opportunity for our U12 & U14 athletes to receive excellent training in a shared annual program with Nebraska USA Wrestling. The NE-AR exchange will feature 3 days of high-level training within the Nebraska wrestling community.

Example of training:
Day 1 - Freestyle at Nebraska Wesleyan University - work with age-level Nebraska athletes in technique and training - live matches and simulation.
Day 2 - Doane University - A whole day with one of the ONLY GRECO college programs in the country. Train with a high-level Greco Coach and athletes.
Day 3 - Nebraska Cornhusker wrestling room and campus - wrestle hard in a D1 powerhouse program room and then finish the day with a minor league baseball game.
Day 4 - Travel to Omaha for FREECO!

Costs: $100 This is an ARYW supported project and many of the costs will be provided by our GROW Youth Freestyle and Greco initiatives.
