What happens when farmers, researchers, and agricultural leaders from Arkansas and Sicily sit down at the same table?
You discover that many of the challenges shaping the future of agriculture — water, climate resilience, food security, and supporting the next generation of farmers — are shared across oceans.
The Seeds Across Seas: Arkansas–Sicily Agricultural Exchange brought a delegation of researchers and agricultural leaders from Sicily to Arkansas to meet with farmers, extension specialists, universities, and community partners.
Through farm visits, policy discussions, and research conversations, the exchange highlighted something powerful: global partnerships can strengthen local agriculture and food systems.
The Little Rock Sister Cities Commission, through its two-year relationship with Enna, helped provide the civic foundation that made these connections possible.
