Mark your calendars! Our first pay-what-you-can market of 2026 returns this Saturday, May 30th from 9 AM until 1 PM. We'll have garden-grown cabbage, leeks, spring onion, Swiss chard, cabbage, beets, English peas and kale for sale. We are excited to officially welcome Coach A as the Garden Educator for Dunbar Garden!

Coach A is an educator, urban agriculture specialist, coach, and community leader with more than 20 years of experience in education, sustainability, youth development, curriculum design, and community engagement. As the Founder and Chief Agriculture Educator of ZepsGarden LLC, Coach A has dedicated years to creating impactful, hands-on learning experiences centered around agriculture, S.T.E.A.M., wellness, sustainability, and community connection.

Throughout the years, Coach A has developed and facilitated educational programming for schools, youth initiatives, community organizations, and public programs throughout Arkansas and beyond. Her work focuses on cultivating spaces that encourage creativity, environmental stewardship, restoration, and lifelong learning.

As Garden Educator, Coach A will help cultivate engaging educational experiences and meaningful community connections through garden-based learning at Dunbar Garden.

Spring has officially kicked off at Dunbar Garden!

Our Spring Plant Sale this past Saturday was a wonderful success. Despite a little rain and chillier weather, our community showed up in full force! Thank you to all of the volunteers, board members, and neighbors who made our first fundraiser of the year so special. We offered a wide selection of cucumbers, eggplant, hot and sweet peppers, tomatoes, squash, pollinator plants, houseplants, and succulents- all grown from seed in our greenhouse. Stay tuned for future pop-up plant sales at the garden!

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating Earth Day 2026 with an incredible team of volunteers from Marriott Little Rock. They planted, mulched, laid w**d barriers, seeded beds, installed trellises and posts, and so much more. We really appreciate their hard work and infectious energy! A huge thank you to Christy Beason from Marriott for coordinating this year's Earth Day volunteer initiative. We’re grateful for your support at Dunbar Garden and in the downtown Little Rock community.

Have any extra uncarved pumpkins sitting on your porch after Halloween? Drop them off at the Dunbar Garden front gate and we'll give them to our chickens!

Pumpkins provide vitamins, antioxidants and minerals that support overall health, immune function, and egg quality. Seeds also contain plant-based omega-3s. They're a big hit with the chickens. 🐔
