As a Conservation Corps, we build sustainable hiking trails, improve public lands, provide habitat restoration, and invasive species removal all around Arkansas.

Our ARCC 2026 Summer Crew officially graduated last week, and we couldn't be more proud! 🎓🎉

This summer, they rolled up their sleeves and volunteered with Apple Seeds Teaching Farm, and made a great impact across Northwest Arkansas. 🌱

Thank you to this incredible group for your hard work and dedication! Congratulations on your graduation, we can't wait to see where your next adventure takes you! 🙌💚

In June, Arkansas Conservation Corps said "See Ya Later" to our friend, Chandler McMichael! 👋

Chandler joined ARCC as a crew member in December 2024, serving a 675-hour term that included a 30-day disaster recovery deployment in North Carolina with his crew. He returned to the program as a Crew Lead to build on those skills and grow his leadership style even further. 💪

When our staff Field Coordinator position opened up, Chandler's experience, energy, and enthusiasm made the choice easy. Over 11 months on staff, he oversaw 4 ARCC crews, earned multiple certifications, and became our resident "field expert." He also put his AmeriCorps Education Award to work, enrolling in and completing NWACC's Trails Technician program.

From there, Chandler leveraged all that experience and training to earn a spot in a competitive logging program in the Northeast! 🪵👏

Chandler is a great example of what happens when you piece together every opportunity in front of you to build something bigger. We'll miss having him on our team, but we couldn't be prouder of everything he's accomplished so far! 🎉🙌

Last week, our Arkansas Conservation Corps joined by CEO Parc Smith and program director Bianca in Hot Springs as leaders and advocates came together to discuss the future of the Great American Outdoors Act. It was an honor to hear from members of the House, the Forest Service, and the National Park Service on the legacy of our public lands and how they’re committed to restoring our national parks for the next 250 years! ✨
