AARP Arkansas AARP's purpose is to empower people to choose how they live as they age. AARP Arkansas has chapters across the state with its headquarters in the Capital City.

AARP Arkansas serves as a State Office of AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering people 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. Membership in AARP is open to anyone of any age, but full benefits go into effect at age 50. More than 271,000 Arkansans are members of AARP. AARP Arkansas focuses on issues that affect those 50-plus and their families such as, expanding broadband coverage to underserved communities, fair utility rates, caregiving, and supporting efforts that would allow workers to save for retirement. Last week AARP Arkansas Staff & Volunteers gathered for our 2026 Leadership Retreat! Day one strengthened our shared understanding of AARP Arkansas' mission, Bridge Plan, and current priorities. Day two was spent creating actionable steps and exploring opportunities to expand the impact of AARP Arkansas.

We wrapped up the week with Advocacy Volunteer Training Day for an advocacy 101 session where current and new advocacy volunteers revitalized their approach to advocacy, learned about upcoming opportunities within the team, and how to use their voices and skills to be a part of the change at the legislative level.

Day two of our Staff & Volunteer Leadership Retreat was a success! Another day of insightful information and collaboration between volunteers and state office staff. Providing an opportunity for our volunteers to get a better understanding of the organization's priorities has led to further empowerment and inspiration to make an impact as a volunteer and community leader.

Yesterday we kicked off the 2026 AARP Arkansas Staff & Volunteer Leadership Retreat! Day one consisted of collaborating on how to strengthen our community impact through a shared understanding of AARP Arkansas' foundation, mission, Bridge Plan, and current priorities.
