UCP was incorporated in 1957, for parents of children with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities who could not find assistance. United Cerebral Palsy is one the largest and comprehensive non-profit agencies in the state of Arkansas. The current array of services has grown in scope from daycare and parent relief for five children to a comprehensive network of habilitation/rehabilitation serving over 500 disabled individuals each year. UCP provides adult habilitation, Medicaid waiver, work activity, alternative community service, community living arrangement, and therapeutic services.

💚 Today is World Cerebral Palsy Day! 💚

Today, we join people around the world in raising awareness, celebrating the incredible contributions of people with cerebral palsy, and advocating for a world where everyone can live a Life Without Limits.

There are more than 17 million people worldwide living with cerebral palsy, with another 350 million people closely connected to a child or adult with cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is a physical disability that affects movement and posture. Its impact can range from weakness in one hand to an almost complete lack of voluntary movement. Many people with cerebral palsy also experience related vision, hearing, communication, and mobility needs.

For almost 70 years, Achieve Community Alliance has built on our legacy as the Arkansas Affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy, working alongside people with cerebral palsy, their families, and communities across Arkansas. While our name has evolved to better reflect the breadth of people we serve, our commitment remains the same: creating opportunities, breaking down barriers, and helping people live Life Without Limits.

Today, we celebrate the people we serve, the families who walk alongside them, and the community that continues to believe in what is possible. 💚

31 years, 10 months, and 2 days!

After nearly 32 years of dedicated service, we’re celebrating the retirement of someone who has made an incredible impact on Achieve Community Alliance and, more importantly, on the people and families we serve: Gwen Hunter!

For over three decades, Gwen has been part of the work to help people create a life without limits - showing up with compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a difference. Her years of service represent countless moments of support, encouragement, advocacy, and care for the individuals and families who have trusted Achieve to be part of their journey.

Gwen, thank you for giving nearly 32 years of your life to helping others live theirs without limits. Your impact reaches far beyond a job title or a number of years. It lives on in the people you’ve served, the colleagues you’ve supported, and the community you’ve helped strengthen.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you have given to Achieve and to the people we serve.

Achieve Community Alliance is pleased to announce its participation in the USDA Institution Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Nutritious meals and snacks are available to eligible participants enrolled at both our Life and Kids programs.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program provides reimbursement for meals and snacks served to eligible participants and helps ensure access to nutritious food in childcare and adult care settings. Parents and guardians may request additional information regarding meal benefits and eligibility requirements by contacting Melissa Roberson (Life) or Ava McGee (Kids) at [email protected].

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, religion, s*x, disability, age, marital status, family/parental status, income derived from a public assistance program, political beliefs, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity, in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA (not all bases apply to all programs). Remedies and complaint filing deadlines vary by program or incident. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.) should contact the responsible Agency or USDA's TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice or TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. 🎨 Achieve Autism Art Walk 2026 🎨
Celebrating creativity, connection, & our amazing children!

Our Achieve Autism Art Walk created a welcoming space for children to express themselves through art, families to connect, and our community to celebrate the unique abilities, creativity, and talents of every child.

Families had the opportunity to walk through our halls and admire their child’s artwork while celebrating their creative accomplishments. The celebration continued in our cafeteria, where families enjoyed refreshments, spent time together, and even had the opportunity to create a little art of their own!

We’re so proud of all the creativity on display and grateful to everyone who helped make this special event possible. Thank you for helping us celebrate what makes each child uniquely amazing!

Celebrating DSP Week with First Community Bank!

DSP Appreciation Week: Advocacy Beyond Our Communities

Celebrating Direct Support Professionals means celebrating the people who show up every day to support individuals with disabilities and their families. It also means advocating for the resources, opportunities, and policies that help make a life without limits possible.

As part of DSP Appreciation Week, Achieve Community Alliance CEO Jennifer Cobb traveled to Washington, DC, with ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources to advocate for improvements that support individuals with disabilities and their families across Arkansas.

While in Washington, Jennifer met with:

🇺🇸 Staff from Senator John Boozman’s office
🇺🇸 Staff from Representatives Bruce Westerman, French Hill, and Rick Crawford’s offices

These meetings helped ensure that the voices of the people we support—and the dedicated DSPs who work alongside them—are being heard on Capitol Hill.

At Achieve Community Alliance, advocacy is an important part of our mission. We believe every Arkansan with a disability deserves the opportunity to achieve their goals, live with independence and choice, and have access to the support they need.

Thank you to Jennifer for taking our mission to Washington, and to our 350+ DSPs for making a difference every day right here at home.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are coaches, advocates, mentors, problem-solvers, and trusted partners who help people with disabilities achieve their goals and live lives of greater independence, choice, and opportunity.

From learning new skills and building friendships to navigating the community and finding creative solutions, our DSPs are there to support, encourage, and celebrate every step along the way.
