In just 11 days, Camp Quality Arkansas will welcome 10 families impacted by childhood cancer to Camp Mitchell for a weekend filled with laughter, connection, and memories made together. 🎗️

We’re busy preparing, but we still need a little help checking items off our Family Camp Amazon Wish List!

What does it actually mean to be a Camp Quality Companion?💙🎗️

It means being the person who cheers them on when they try something new. The person who tapes a pool noodle to their back and joins in on the ridiculous camp games. The person who listens, laughs, encourages, and helps children with cancer just be kids again at camp. You don't need to be a medical professional or a camp expert, you just need to show up, be yourself, and be ready to make some memories!

❤️ LOVE CAMP. HATE CANCER. — 2027 Virtual Auction ❤️

Our annual Love Camp, Hate Cancer Virtual Auction will be held January 11–17, 2027, and we’re already building an amazing lineup of items for our Camp Quality Arkansas community to bid on!

And here’s the thing: everyone knows someone who has a talent, skill, connection, or something special to share.

Maybe you own a business. Maybe you make something. Maybe you bake, paint, photograph, sew, build, teach, create, or offer a service. Maybe you have season tickets, a vacation property, a favorite local restaurant, or a connection to a business that would love to support kids with cancer.

We would love donations of:

❤️ Gift cards or certificates
❤️ Products or merchandise
❤️ Handmade or locally created items
❤️ Services
❤️ Experiences or tickets
❤️ Gift baskets or themed packages
❤️ Classes, lessons, or sessions

We didn’t take many photos yesterday… mostly because we were too busy hanging out with some of the coolest kids ever. 💛

And really, that feels like the perfect picture of what SHINE ON is all about.

We are so thankful for the We Care Foundation and the way they continue to open doors for Camp Quality Arkansas. Yesterday was filled with fantastic vendors, a car show, an auction, and so many opportunities to connect with families, volunteers, supporters, and our community.

Founded in 1989, Camp Quality Arkansas has been serving children and families across Arkansas for more than three decades. Yesterday, campers from 1992, 2014, and 2026 all stopped by our table to visit, laugh, and spend time with us.

That is Camp Quality.

Kids grow up. Years pass. New families become part of the story. But the connection remains.

We are family. 💛

That is also what makes our relationship with the We Care Foundation so special. Their Executive Director, Tasha, is the mom of Jace, a childhood cancer survivor and one of the kids who found his way to Camp Quality Arkansas. Their family knows firsthand the fear, exhaustion, and uncertainty that can come with childhood cancer, and they have turned that experience into a mission to help other families feel supported, connected, and less alone.

That one connection has continued to ripple outward, opening doors, building relationships, and bringing families together.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is about more than wearing gold. It is about showing up. It is about connection. It is about making sure families know they do not have to walk this road alone.

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses to SHINE ON. 🎗️

💛 Some of the most meaningful Camp Quality stories come full circle.

Today we’re celebrating our Full Circle Volunteers — former campers who return to give back, encourage the next generation, and help create the same kind of memories that once meant so much to them.

🌟 Shelby is one of those volunteers.

As a former camper, he knows firsthand how powerful it is to be surrounded by people who understand:

✨ “Camp Quality is a great place for kids with cancer at any stage of their journey. As a former camper, I loved being around other kids who had been through some of the same experiences. Camp gave me the chance to make friends that I still have all these years later.”

Now Shelby gets to help create those moments for today’s campers. That’s the beauty of Camp Quality — campers become friends, friends become family, and sometimes campers grow up and come back to serve. 💛
