Earlier this month, Amaral received the 2026 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, an honor that recognizes outstanding classical musicians who are committed to driving change.

Pianist Michael Stephen Brown is now internationally recognized as “one of the leading figures in the current renaissance of performer-composers,” known for charismatic performances, colorful personality, and programs that mix beloved classics with his own inventive works. He has recently been awarded the 2026 winner of the prestigious Andrew Wolf Chamber Music Award, presented by the nationally acclaimed Bay Chamber Concerts & Music School.

His upcoming recital in Little Rock next Thursday at CHARTS on the Pulaski Tech campus will feature works by Mendelssohn, Ravel, Chopin, Copland, and Brown himself.

Claremont Trio will be performing Beethoven's Piano Trio No. 1 in E flat Major tonight, among other pieces. Over the years of this ensemble's tenure, critics have raved about the ensemble's interpretations of this revolutionary composer:

"I am especially picky about Beethoven... But the Claremont has their measure fully... They give little quarter to Beethoven the classicist and focus fully on the temperamental and tempestuous young genius fresh from the halls of Haydn's tutelage. The results are stunning, and they make this early opus, one of the first truly independently-voiced trios, seem like years later than it was actually composed. I hope they continue on with all of the trios."
