It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our fellow Lion, Owen Curry Jr.

Owen was more than a member of the Little Rock South Lions Club—he was a pillar of service, dedication, and friendship. With 66 years of commitment to Lions Clubs International, his impact reached far beyond our club and into countless lives throughout our community.

He embodied what it truly means to be a Lion—serving others with humility, leading with integrity, and always showing up when it mattered most. Owen’s legacy of service, kindness, and unwavering dedication will continue to inspire all of us.

We are grateful for the time we shared with him and for the example he set. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Please keep his family, friends, Lions, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Tonight’s meeting holds special meaning for our club. 💛

The program was arranged by our fellow Lion, Owen Curry, who we sadly lost last week. Owen was a dedicated Lion, and tonight’s program is a reflection of that.

We will hear from Mr. Richard Underhill, a beekeeper representing the Arkansas Beekeepers Association, sharing the important role bees play in our world—a topic Owen believed would be both interesting and impactful for all of us.

As we gather, we do so with gratitude for Owen’s dedication to our club and the lasting impact he made. His presence will be deeply missed, but his contributions continue to bring us together.

Join us as we come together to honor our fallen veterans with a meaningful morning of service.

📍 Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery
📅 Saturday, May 16
⏰ 9:00 AM (arrive early for instructions)

We’ll be placing flags on the graves of those who gave everything for our freedom. This is a powerful way to show respect and gratitude—one flag at a time.

We need ALL the volunteers we can get!

✔️ Community groups welcome

The Little Rock South Lions Club and the North Little Rock Lions Club recently teamed up for another joint delivery to the Clarendon Closet—and the kids absolutely love these donations!

Providing clothing and essentials helps students feel confident, comfortable, and ready to focus on learning. Seeing their excitement reminds us why these partnerships and service projects matter so much.
