As members of a club active since 1951, we engage in fundraising and "hands-on" activities to support our various community-service projects. If you are interested in "giving something back" while having fun and making new friends, consider joining us. (If someone has already suggested you join, consider it an honor!) To be a Kiwanian means "Serving the Children of the World" as one of nearly 250,000 people making a difference locally and globally.

I just got back from two weeks of teaching the shotgun merit badge at Camp Rockefeller. I had 25 the first week and 12 this week. I was able to get them all qualified with the help of Chris Campbell and Conner Parker. I try to make it fun while teaching them how to be safe and teaching them the fundamentals. I enjoy seeing them improve each time they come to the range. I really enjoy it when they come up to me and say how much fun they had during the class when I am not on the range. I had two young scouts help me and I really appreciate their help. Chase and Brodie were fantastic and great examples for the younger scouts. We spend about 14 hours a day on the range for the first three days of camp making it fun not just for the youth but for the adults also. This is the first experience for many of them and I had two this week who shoot 23 out of 25 to qualify who said it was their first time. Congratulations to Tim and Jonathan. This is why I volunteer for Scouting because these youth are our future.

I just got back from 1 1/2 weeks teaching the shotgun merit badge classes at Camp Rockefeller. Our staff got them all qualified. We had 25 last week and 12 this week. I always enjoy working with the youth and they always tell me that they enjoyed the class. These young people make so proud to be involved in scouting.
