🙌 There are more than 40 statewide opportunities to sign the For AR Kids petition this week!

👀 Keep an eye out for For AR Kids volunteers and organizers at your local summer festivals and community events. They’ll have petitions available in towns all over Arkansas.
__________

⏳ We have ONE MONTH to collect enough signatures (91,000 total) to get the Arkansas Educational Rights Amendment on the November ballot for Arkansas voters to have a say.

🫵 Here's how you can help make it happen!

1️⃣ Sign the For AR Kids petition THIS WEEK.
Volunteers are carrying petitions in communities throughout the entire state. You can find our calendar with statewide signing opportunities at www.forARkids.org/where-to-sign
👉 Helpful tip: You can sign the For AR Kids petition in counties other than the one you reside in. Just let the volunteer canvasser know, so they can make sure you sign on a petition that matches your home county.

2️⃣ Volunteer to help collect signatures.
If folks can collect just 10-20 signatures from family and friends, then we can get the total amount needed. You can connect with For AR Kids organizers to get petitions for your community and learn about best-practices for canvassing at www.forARkids.org/get-involved

3️⃣ Donate to support the For AR Kids campaign.
Any support via the donation link at www.forARkids.org is critical for our outreach efforts.
__________

In depth:

🎯 A key part of the reforms that For AR Kids is advocating for is increased accountability and stronger guardrails for Arkansas’ ever-ballooning EFA program that’s currently siphoning $380 MILLION of our taxpayer dollars to just 44,000 (less than 10%) Arkansas students who use the funds to supplement the costs of private education.

💯 With more than 465,000 (more than 90%) of all Arkansas students attending local, public schools, we believe investing these taxpayer funds into more thoughtful, truly-innovative strategies for schools that educate and support the majority of our children, would produce a much better return on investment for Arkansas' future.

"We're asking for all of those folks out there that think they're frustrated with our political system, frustrated with our politicians — we totally get that, share a lot of that. If you want to do something, if you want to feel like you can make a difference, these next five weeks are a critical time to make your voice heard so we can collect 91,000 signatures to place both these measures on the ballot. So Arkansas voters have some choices in November about the direction of the state.”

☀️ It’s a new day and a new month! And we need your help to advocate for a better Arkansas for all. Here’s how you can make a difference TODAY:

“It's time that we demand more of our public schools in Arkansas rather than just encouraging students to abandon them. In Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, disadvantaged students get extra help but must succeed on the same terms as everyone else. Education leaders in those states will tell you that's what the job market demands.”
