I urge everyone in the state to PLEASE monitor forecasts through out the day into the late evening hours. We are under a serious threat for some VERY active severe weather today/tonight. Heads up, a chance for a tornado watch later on is 100% for a large portion of Arkansas. Please have a way to receive weather updates and warnings. This is not a drill folks!

The severe weather event has about come to an end. Some tornado warning were issued with many t-storm warnings, but no damage. Good evening folks!

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Northeastern Woodruff County in eastern Arkansas...
Southeastern Jackson County in eastern Arkansas...

* Until 630 PM CDT

* At 557 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Tupelo, or 10 miles northeast of Augusta, moving
east at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and baseball size hail.

SOURCE...Weather spotters reported a large funnel cloud in
Bradford at 545 PM CDT. Other spotters report a rotating
wall cloud with this very dangerous storm. A tornado
could touch down at any time!

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
