UDDC staff just concluded a tour of the Mobile Market with former Governor of South Carolina, David Beasley. He's in town today to speak at a Clinton Foundation event this evening, entitled "Food For Thought And Democracy". He shared several jewels of information related to food insecurity and his past work as Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme. Thanks to Mayor Frank D. Scott Jr for recommending the Mobile Market as a visit during the former Governor's time in Little.

The Mobile Market just wrapped up participation at the American Community Gardening Association Community Gardening Association Conference tour stop Dunbar Garden. Community gardeners from around the country are in Little Rock this week attending the annual conference.

The Mobile Market closed out the week this afternoon at Little Rock School District Carver- Washington STEAM Magnet Elementary School. There were a variety of shoppers including parents, teachers, staff, students, and neighborhood residents!

We aren't just cultivating vegetables in the garden. We're also using our relaxing space to cultivate peace through movement. This Saturday (May 16) during the University District Farmers' Market, we will be hosting a donation-based garden yoga class led by Arkansas Yoga Collective instructor Logan German. There will be two, 30-minute sessions. The first session runs from 9-9:30 a.m. and the second session runs from 11-11:30 a.m.
