Are you truly a person devoted to prayer, or has your prayer life become sporadic?

Jesus declared in John 11:42, "I knew that thou hearest me always." When we pray faithfully for others by name, something powerful happens—our hearts overflow with compassion and burden for their needs. This is intercession: standing in the gap for someone else.

Here's the beautiful pattern Jesus modeled: prayer leads to love, and love flows into action. As you intercede for others, your heart is moved with genuine compassion. You begin desiring to make a real difference in their lives, motivated by the Holy Spirit.

We live in a time of golden opportunity with more people alive than ever before. Yet our prayer meetings remain empty while we chase crowds and success. Where are the men and women desperate enough to cry out without stopping?

Not every preacher shaking a Bible is feeding God's flock.

I once herded 40 escaped cows back into a pasture with nothing but rocks in a feed sack. They followed the familiar sound, expecting nourishment but getting tricked instead.

Too many believers today are doing the same thing—chasing after preachers who wave our Bible around but only offer self-help and empty promises. As Jesus warned in Matthew 7:15, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Real spiritual food calls us to die daily and serve others, not gratify ourselves.

When the grass gets short in your church, don't jump the fence looking for greener pastures. Stay faithful to God's Word and don't fall for a bag of rocks.

We have 3,000+ discipleship resources, but only 5% of churches reproduce disciples.

The problem isn't lack of curriculum. It's lack of disciple-makers willing to live life-on-life with others. More is caught than taught.

Prayer life, emotional maturity, hospitality, evangelistic instinct—these can't be learned from a workbook. As Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." They must be observed, absorbed, and embodied in real relationships.

Discipleship isn't about completing a program. It's about opening your life so others can see Christ lived out in the everyday moments—the hospital bedside, the unexpected conflict, the stranger who needs hope.

Your old life doesn't have to define your new one in Christ.

The book of Titus reminds us that we once lived enslaved to passions and pleasures, but salvation changed everything. As Paul wrote, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Now we're called to something higher—to be subject to authorities, show true humility, and devote ourselves to doing what is good. This isn't natural for our human nature, but it's exactly how Jesus lived.

When we live for Christ and treat others with His love and kindness, it's not just excellent—it's profitable for everyone around us. That's the pathway of blessing God has for His children.

You can't drift into spiritual maturity any more than you can drift into physical fitness.

Most Christians genuinely want to grow, but few have an actual plan. We attend church, read our Bibles occasionally, and assume maturity will naturally develop over time—but it doesn't work that way.

Peter tells us to "add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge" because growth requires intentionality, not just good intentions. Programs and Sunday School can help, but no one can pursue Christ for you.

Ask yourself four questions: Where am I going spiritually? What practices will get me there? Who is helping me grow? And who am I helping grow? Start somewhere today—choose a book of Scripture to study, find someone to meet with regularly, or invest in another believer's life.

Your soul's health depends on one thing: confession.

Unconfessed sin creates a downward spiral that impacts you spiritually, emotionally, relationally, and physically. King David experienced this firsthand, and it affected every area of his life until he made things right with God.

As Acts 24:16 reminds us, Paul exercised himself "to have always a conscience void to offence toward God, and toward men." That word "exercise" means hard work—it requires intentionality and introspection to maintain a clear conscience.

The beauty of confession is that it restores sweet fellowship with God and invites His presence to control every area of your life. When you agree with God about your sin, healing begins and your soul becomes healthy again.
