On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and mindful of the families who still carry that loss.

Have you ever felt like being a Christian is just plain HARD?

I get disgusted with the civil unrest around us. But then I examine my own attitudes and realize – sometimes it's really hard to walk the walk. Paul himself admitted, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do" (Romans 7:15). Even the apostle struggled!

Here's the truth we forget: Being saved means becoming a NEW creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). But we still battle our old desires. We blame others like Adam and Eve did. We even blame Satan when James 1:14 says each person "is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed." The problem isn't just out there – it's in here too.

That's when we must pray like Jesus: "Yet not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42). When it's hard to be a Christian, that's when we need Him most.

We are excited to share that the CBC Mustangs have earned a place in the Opening Round of the 2026 NAIA Baseball National Championship Tournament. After winning the AMC Conference Tournament, the Mustangs will travel to Williamsburg, Kentucky, to face Bryan College on May 11.

This is an incredible opportunity for our student-athletes to compete on a national stage while representing Christ and Central Baptist College with excellence and integrity.

As we prepare for this tournament run, we need your immediate support. Because postseason travel expenses were not included in the original budget, we are seeking to raise $15,000–$20,000 to help cover lodging, meals, and transportation.

Would you prayerfully consider making a gift today to help send the Mustangs to nationals?

Gifts can be made online at www.cbc.edu/give. Please select “Other” and designate your gift as “2026 CBC Baseball Opening Round Travel.”

Checks may also be mailed to:

Head Coach Dr. Aaron Brister shared:

“I am so proud of our team. These men have displayed integrity, character, and fight. Our team motto is ‘Building a Tradition, Leaving a Legacy.’ This year we saw thirteen players choose Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and seven were baptized. That is better than any win on the baseball field.”

Thank you for supporting the Mustangs as they compete for the glory of Christ.
