For the past five years, I have worked with dedication and sincerity to build bridges of communication, peace, and cultural understanding between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Arkansas in the United States through a series of personal initiatives and activities driven by my deep belief in coexistence and mutual understanding among people.
This journey included several meaningful milestones, among them the organization of the “Peace March” in Little Rock Arkansas , which was followed by networking meetings that brought together members of the Moroccan community with political leaders in Little Rock. These efforts also included a communication meeting that brought together the then Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Abdelkader Jamoussi, with the Mayor of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Shirley Washington, the Mayor of Little Rock, Mr. Frank Scott Jr., as well as a representative of the Governor of Arkansas at that time.
I also had the honor of contributing to the organization of “Moroccan Day” in Pine Bluff in partnership with the “Maroc” Association, with the goal of introducing the richness and authenticity of Moroccan culture to the local American community.
Throughout these five years, I worked tirelessly to strengthen the values of peace and coexistence while promoting Morocco’s image as the United States’ first historical and strategic ally in North Africa, and as the first Arab and Muslim nation to recognize the independence of the United States in 1777 a historic step that reflects the deep relationship between the two nations.
In 2024, my friend, the Mayor of Little Rock, issued an official proclamation declaring November as Moroccan Culture Month at my request, allowing us to share Morocco’s rich and authentic heritage with the residents of Little Rock and the State of Arkansas as a whole.
In 2025, another historic milestone was reached. On October 30, the United Nations adopted the resolution supporting the autonomy proposal as a realistic and effective solution to the artificial conflict surrounding the Moroccan Sahara. This historic event will remain forever engraved in the hearts of every proud Moroccan.
In November 2025, Morocco’s friend, the Mayor of Pine Bluff, Vivian Flowers, together with members of the City Council, reaffirmed their support for this historic international resolution through an official proclamation congratulating His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan people, and especially the residents of the city of Dakhla on this historic achievement.
On April 7, I had the honor of receiving the final official copy of this historic proclamation from Mayor Vivian Flowers, for whom I have the highest respect and appreciation. I also extend my sincere gratitude to all members of the Pine Bluff City Council for their friendship and appreciation toward Morocco and the Moroccan people.
This photo was taken inside the Mayor’s office while we were putting the final touches on the proclamation.
I would also like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to الأستاذ لحسين أولودي for his valuable contribution by writing a great article regarding this historic proclamation.
In conclusion, my message in life remains the belief that each one of us, in our own position, has a responsibility to become a bridge for peace, coexistence, and understanding among people, because true humanity is built through love, respect, and peaceful coexistence.
