Running a mile is harder than it looks. Throughout the race, many of us probably told ourselves, “It’s only a mile.” But it’s so much more than that.
SoMa Main Street Mile is community, family, and friendship. It’s cheering on strangers and celebrating personal victories. It’s the freedom to move and challenge yourself, and to cross a finish line surrounded by people who want to see you succeed.
And for a moment, it’s the chance to hold your medal like an Olympian, because every finish deserves to be celebrated.
(P.S. We had Track and Field Paralympian, Kaitlin Bounds, running in the Elite Women’s mile! What a testament to how resilience and the joy of running can inspire us all!)
Thank you again to Blue Rose Running Co. and Blue Rose Physical Therapy for their support, and to everyone for another year of running with us! 🏅❤️👟
