Arkansas Imagination Library

Arkansas Imagination Library Our mission is to increase literacy in Arkansas by enrolling all children ages 0 to 5 in the Imagination Library.

We believe reading begins at birth, the benefits of a home library go far beyond the books, and parents are a child's first and best teacher.

๐Ÿ“š Because of the generosity of Clay County Electric Cooperative and CoBank's Sharing Success program, children in Clay and Randolph Counties will continue receiving free books every month for another year.

Their combined $14,000 investment will help provide books to more than 1,000 local children, supporting early literacy, school readiness, and a love of reading from birth to age five.

When children have books in the home, families read together more often, home libraries grow, and young learners are better prepared for kindergarten.

Thank you to Clay County Electric Cooperative and CoBank for investing in the future of children and families in Northeast Arkansas. ๐Ÿ’™

From our friends at Penguin Random House - A few simple reading tips can make all the difference this summer. The goal is to raise kids who love reading, and summer is the perfect time to focus less on structure and more on making reading fun! ๐Ÿ“šโ˜€๏ธ

Arkansas Imagination Library is expanding early literacy and parent engagement in Jefferson and Phillips Counties through a new initiative supported by the Walton Family Foundation. ๐Ÿ“š

Over the next two years, this initiative will help deliver more than 73,000 books to childrenโ€™s homes while strengthening literacy-rich family routines and supporting Pre-K educators.

We are deeply grateful for this investment in Arkansas children, families, and communities. ๐Ÿ’™

A huge thank you to the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association for welcoming Arkansas Imagination Library to this yearโ€™s ARTA Convention! ๐Ÿ“š

ARIL Local Program Partner Director Dr. Tammy Benson had the opportunity to speak with nearly 280 retired educators about how they can help children across Arkansas through Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library by informing families, enrolling children, investing in local programs, and volunteering in their communities.

The day led to new volunteer connections, local partnership opportunities, and support for Imagination Library programs across the state.

We're grateful for Arkansas educators who continue serving children and families after retirement. ๐Ÿ’™

This month, weโ€™re celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with stories that help children see themselves โ€” and others โ€” in the pages they read. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š

โ€œPlay with Meโ€ by Kat Chen and Lorraine Nam is part of the Dolly Partonโ€™s Imagination Library collection and encourages kindness, conversation, friendship, and shared play through simple language and joyful illustrations.

Books like this help children build empathy, confidence, and social skills from an early age โ€” one story at a time.
