Celebrating 10 Years of Service with ParentsasTeachers! 🎉💙

For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving families, supporting parents, and being part of a mission that makes a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities. Working in Parents as Teachers has given me countless opportunities to learn, grow, build meaningful relationships, and witness the incredible strength of the families we serve.

I’m truly grateful for every family, coworker, mentor, and leader who has been part of this journey. Your trust, support, and encouragement have made these 10 years so meaningful.

✨ A New Certification, A Greater Purpose! ✨
I’m so proud and excited to share that Aaliyah Gilmore, PAT Home Visitor, Wanda Corney, PAT State Manager, and Nelly A. Valentin, PAT Supervisor, are now officially Certified Safe Sleep Instructors! 💤👶💙

This certification is more than an accomplishment—it’s an opportunity to share knowledge, empower families, and make a difference in our community. Our goal is to provide our Parents as Teachers participants, caregivers, and community partners with the education and tools they need to create a safe sleep environment for every baby.

Together, we are committed to promoting safe sleep practices, raising awareness, and helping prevent sleep-related infant deaths through education and prevention.

Every baby deserves a safe place to sleep, and every parent deserves the knowledge and support to make that happen. 💙

We are honored to take on this responsibility and excited to continue learning, teaching, and serving our families and community!

Jacksonville Housing Authority announces the upcoming opening of the HCV Section 8 waiting list.

Before applying, please have these documents ready to scan and upload to the portal:

1. Birth Certificates for all household members
2. Social Security Cards for all household members
3. Photo ID for all household members who are 18 yrs of age and older
4. Proof of income for all household members

If you do not upload these documents, we will not be able to process your application.

We had such a great time connecting with our families at yesterday’s group connection meeting. Our We Move session focused on the importance of physical activity, nutrition, gross motor skills, and healthy movement for both children and families.

A special thank you to the Arkansas Children’s Research Center for partnering with us, especially Elizabeth Hayes for coordinating everything and Dr. Taren Swindle and team for sharing valuable information and engaging our families in activities that encourage healthy, active lifestyles. 🍎🧀🥬🏃‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️🧡

We love creating opportunities for our families to learn, connect, move, and grow together.
