On April 16, 2026, Kathy Balkman and Ellen Cook, representing the Little Rock-Centennial Chapter, volunteered at the Little Rock Our Community Salutes Ceremony. They were joined by Junelle Mongno from the Major Jacob Gray Chapter, Jacque Armstrong from the Prudence Hall Chapter, and Sharon Whitlege from the Polly Conway Chapter.

During the ceremony, our nation's newest military enlistees—both young men and women—were individually recognized and thanked for their commitment to serving our country. Their families were also honored for their support as these enlistees embarked on their military journey. The enlistees raised their right hands and took the Oath of Enlistment.

This event marked the third Community Salutes Ceremony in Arkansas for 2026, and the second time DAR has participated. It is truly an honor to be a part of this exceptional event!

From the office, you continue around the road to where the star is. We can park on the road, as long as we are all on the same side so that people can get by, or you can park at the office and walk down; it isn't far.
