Film Quotes Film Every month in concert with the Arkansas Times we examine a film and try to place it and its creators in a historical and creative context.

https://linktr.ee/cinema.io Cinema I/O is a nomadic, non-profit microcinema currently housed within Good Weather (Little Rock) at 420 Byrd St.. The “I/O” in our name stands for “input/output,” which reflects our mission; fostering community engagement through diverse film programming that inspires creative action and dialogue. Our aim is to present underrepresented and underseen films in Little Rock. Officially founded in 2023 by a small board of film enthusiasts after an invitation by Good Weather to share its space, the project began as an offshoot of the Arkansas Times Film Series which continues to have monthly screenings hosted by Riverdale 10 VIP Cinema in Little Rock.

Our summer break is over and it’s nice to be back with some special screenings for the month of October. In a turn that’s pretty new for us, we’ve got a couple of new releases coming to our warehouse location (420 Byrd St). First up is the film by Rafael Manuel, Filipiñana, which was reviewed by Justin Chang on Fresh Air. Next we’re excited to be showing John Wilson’s The History of Concrete. You’ll have several opportunities to see each film, but of course our space is limited so you’re encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.

We’re also about our  monthly screening at CALS Ron Robinson Theater. This month, as part of their Hitchcocktoberfest we’ve selected Alfred Hitchcock’s Marnie, starring Sean Connery an Tippi Hedren.

Check out cinemaio.org for details and tickets.
