Great conversations and important perspectives at last night’s AMDPA Health Policy Roundtable!
We appreciated the opportunity to hear updates on clinical policy, community health and access, Medicaid, primary care, cardiovascular care deserts, pharmacy policy and more.
A special thank you to Rebecca Fries, Arkansas Policy Specialist with Aledade, for bringing the primary care perspective to the panel. Rebecca highlighted the importance of investing in primary care and the work underway to strengthen it across Arkansas.

We are proud to welcome Amanda Deel, DO, as the 79th President of the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians!

Dr. Deel was installed on August 28 by AAFP President Sarah Nosal, MD. The evening made history twice. Dr. Deel became the first osteopathic physician to serve as president of the Arkansas AFP, while Dr. Nosal conducted the entire installation ceremony on roller skates in honor of our Back to the ’80s theme!

Dr. Deel’s passion for developing future physicians, protecting mothers and babies, and advancing family medicine is evident in everything she does. We are fortunate to have her leadership, vision, humility, and heart guiding the Academy in the year ahead.
