04/22/2026

We were so glad to see the Central High Cougars cross country team participating in the Mile Zero 5k!!

Our mission is focused on revitalizing rural infrastructure to be used and enjoyed by future generations. That starts with planting seeds like this.

We hope to see you all at next year's Mile Zero Festival too! 😉

What an incredible weekend.

We had 172 participants attend Mile Zero this year (32% increase over last year), 50 bikes distributed local public school students, and a collective of thousands of miles ridden and run along the Crowley’s Ridge Gravel Trail.

This was a record attendance for one of our events and we cannot even begin to explain how incredible it feels to see so many people enjoying this place.

That’s what this weekend is about. Getting folks out here and building community that lasts even after the last bike has rolled out of town.

We’re grateful to everyone who made the trip and endlessly thankful for the people and partners who helped make Mile Zero happen:

The entire community of Helena–West Helena
Ecological Design Group
Ozark Foundation
The Ride Conway
Thrive Inc.
Mississippi River State Park

We’ll be back at it soon and until then stay tunned for all of the incredible things that are happening in the Delta! 🚴

Spring is starting to show up in the Delta! 🌱

Trees are leafing out. Wildflowers are coming in. The whole place feels like it’s waking back up. We’ve got a few guided outings during Mile Zero if you want to get out and see it up close.

Join Habitat Harry and spend some time on the trail.

🌿 Hidden Wildflowers: Blooms that only show up for a few weeks a year
🐦 Spring Wildlife: Catching the early nesters and migratory birds returning to the Ridge
🌳The "Green Up": Watching the canopy fill back in as the forest wakes up

It’s going to be a beautiful morning on the trail.

We’re incredibly excited to have National Interscholastic Cycling Association Arkansas joining us at Mile Zero for a conversation about youth cycling and what it can do for communities like Helena!

What they’re doing fits naturally with our work here in the Delta. As we build projects like the Crowley’s Ridge Gravel Trail, they’re helping grow the next generation of riders who will use it.

📍 Saturday, April 11
🕦 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
📍 Main Stage / Community Hub — 415 Cherry St.

NICA works with students in grades 6–12, using mountain biking as a way to build confidence, community, and healthy habits that stick.

No one sits on the sidelines. It’s about showing up, trying something new, and building something that lasts.

If you’re around next weekend, come listen in and see what they’re doing across Arkansas! Register at https://www.bikereg.com/milezero
