Roots & Resonance is now in the books! Many thanks to both St. James United Methodist and St. Lukes Episcopal for giving us beautiful venues in which we could share our music. Both sanctuaries were full of brilliant concert goers whom we are most grateful for as well. As for us, we have a week off before heading to Santa's Workshop to prepare for Christmas Around the World. Stay tuned.

It's concert eve and time for dress rehearsal thus we offer this one last wish with hopes you will be able to come and sit with us for a while this weekend. No where else are you ever able to find such unity than when voices are lifted together in song.

Just resharing this fantastic clip to remind everyone pre-concert banjo music with Grant Watkins starts at 7:10 tomorrow night ahead of the 7:30 concert. On Sunday afternoon you can hear Grant starting at 2:40 ahead of the 3:00 p.m. concert at St.Luke’s Episcopal in NLR. Hope to see you there!

Full of longing and lament, Irish folk music is home to melodies so beautiful it could be said they linger in your mind long after the last note. Turn your volume up and listen to one such melody, the haunting Eanach Chùin played here on Irish Whistle. The folk song Cindy made its first appearance at the turn of the century and despite the name's apparent unpopularity, the lyrics indicate "Cindy" was at least unique enough to inspire a song. 👣 As for myself, I am of the thinking that this was the composer's way of saying, "you had me at hello." Interpreted by countless artists, Black is the Color of my True Love's Hair is perhaps one of the most beautiful Scottish ballads brought to the Appalachians by settlers.
