We have officially begun for the 2026-27 academic school year!

And just like that, The Arkansas Academy of Etiquette & Excellence is officially in motion!

We gathered with an incredible group of young ladies and started with a skill they’ll use for the rest of their lives:

How to introduce yourself.

We practiced introductions, eye contact, clear voices, confidence and learning how to present yourself when meeting someone new.

While an introduction tells someone who you are.

Your reputation tells them what you’ve consistently shown them about who you are.

So we talked about what do people think when they hear your name? What do your choices communicate? What do you want to be known for? And perhaps most importantly, how to make different choices when the reputation you’re building doesn’t match the person you want to become.

This is only the beginning. 💕

Our goal isn’t to create perfect young ladies.

It’s to help prepare confident, thoughtful and capable ones.

5 Cool Ways to Build a Reputation for Success

1. Confident Presence → “Your vibe is your résumé.”
The way you show up — how you walk, talk, and carry yourself in every setting says more than your GPA. Confidence (not arrogance) is what makes people take notice.

2. Communication Skills → “Text, talk, email = your brand in 3 seconds.”
Whether you’re DM’ing a recruiter, sending a thank-you email, or speaking up in class, how you say things matters as much as what you say.

3. Digital Footprint → “Your posts are receipts.”
What you post online tells the world who you are before you even get in the room. Post like the future you is watching (because they are). (P.S. your posts never go away).

4. Networking Etiquette → “Your net worth = your network.”
Opportunities don’t just come from applications, they come from people. Shake hands, make eye contact, and connect with intention.

5. Adaptability & Emotional Intelligence → “EQ is the real flex.”
Smart is cool. But being able to read the room, handle change, and work with all kinds of people? That’s what actually gets you ahead.

Etiquette and soft-skills have become an essential job trait in the workplace. It's no longer enough to have the education or the technical skills to qualify for in demand jobs. Children who learn soft skills early are prepared to interact more confidently than those who did not.
