The Parker Gill Foundation

The Parker Gill Foundation The Parker Gill Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created after Parker’s tragic opioid related overdose at just 20 years of age.

We hope to end overdose deaths in Arkansas with a combination of Prevention & Recovery efforts. Saving Lives

The Parker Gill Foundation was created in 2019 after our beloved Parker’s unexpected fatal opioid-related overdose at just 20 years of age. Parker struggled for several years with an opioid use disorder. He tried numerous forms of treatment to overcome his disease including residential tre

atment, intensive outpatient treatment and medication assisted treatment. Parker fought hard but one relapse took away his chance of achieving long-term sustained recovery. Through the establishment of this foundation we hope to end overdose deaths in Arkansas supporting a combination of prevention and recovery efforts to save lives. OUR PURPOSE
We believe a combination of Prevention and Recovery efforts are vital to ending opioid- related overdose deaths in Arkansas. We believe the most effective way to prevent opioid-related overdose is through the PREVENTION of substance misuse and substance use disorder. Education focused on community settings, collegiate and youth in school and health care settings is critical to prevention. We believe in the hope of RECOVERY and that people who have a substance use disorder should have access to treatment and peer-run, recovery-oriented housing; giving them a safe place in which to pursue the goal of long-term sustained recovery. The foundation will solicit donations from public and private individuals to fund the support of prevention and recovery efforts. Funding will be used as follows:
Prevention efforts to include, but are not limited to, the funding and support of: education forums churches, community and health care settings across the state of Arkansas to educate individuals on the dangers and risks of substance use, substance use disorder, overdose, stigma and the treatment options for substance use disorder; And youth and collegiate substance abuse prevention coalitions. Recovery efforts include, but are not limited to, the funding to support increased access to recovery housing and access to treatment through scholarships to individuals desiring to pursue the goal of recovery but do not have the financial means to access treatment.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month — and at Together Arkansas, we know that mental health and substance use are deeply connected. More than 1 in 4 people with a serious mental health condition also have a substance use disorder. Workplaces that prioritize mental wellness don't just improve productivity — they save lives. This month, visit togetherarkansas.com to learn ways to create a healthier, drug-free workplace.

was epic with a record number of 26 teams. We turned the tournament red, white and blue to celebrate America’s 250th birthday, to celebrate our country’s freedom while celebrating freedom from addiction and the hope that recovery brings. We also remembered those who have lost their life as a result of the disease of addiction and alcoholism. We remembered they are why we keep fighting.
